Belinda Ferrison House is a semi-independent accommodation in Northampton for care leavers aged 17 – 25 years, providing care leavers the very best steppingstone to a brighter future. Belinda Ferrison House has 19 flats for care leavers leaving care, is staffed 24/7, and provides support sessions, workshops and activities to support the transition to independence. The Senior Service Support Worker will have accountability for the delivery of bespoke services to support care leavers residing in Belinda Ferrison House. The Senior Support Worker will supervise, mentor and guide Service upport Workers and work collaboratively with a multi-agency team. Main Duties and Responsibilities 1. Leadership and Management · Provide strong and credible leadership and coaching to the Service Support Co-Ordinators. · Work with Service Manager and Deputy to help with staff performance, development, and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to meet the business expectations. · Oversee, and undertake duties, in relation to facilities management, cleaning and maintenance ensuring the service is compliant with wider regulations. · Ensure that all practices and procedures are aligned to Homes2Inspire commitment to equality and diversity. · Set measurable objectives for the team aligned to the service delivery model. · Ensure that staff appraisals and supervisions are conducted regularly in a meaningful and effective manner to identify knowledge and learning needs, development, and opportunities. · Ensure safeguarding and legislation practices and procedures are practiced by the team. · Operate with a solution focussed attitude to drive high standards of performance from your team, leading to positive outcomes for care leavers. · Participate in regular team meetings as required with the service Manager. · Support the service manager when needed with rota management in order to meet the needs of the contractual requirements within the facility. · Undertake On-call duties for the service 2. Operational · Adhering to and producing effective risk assessments in regard to the building and health & safety processes. · Facilitate the initial induction of care leavers into Belinda Ferrison House at point of arrival ensuring a welcoming and inclusive attitude. · Collaborate effectively with the Service Manager, Deputy, and Senior Youth mentor, to help the care leavers to transition from semi-independent to independent living. · Liaise proactively and effectively with other departments and external agencies to ensure that care leavers receive appropriate support, in line with minimum service expectations, and to enable care leavers to increase their independence. · Read and adhere to support and risk plans for care leavers to determine how Belinda Ferrison House can best respond to meet their needs effectively. · To work directly with care leavers and to support them to develop independence skills and confidence, measurable using the Outcome Star. · To effectively record and evidence works completed and any other relevant information regarding an individual young person on the management information system (CHARMS). · Participate in meetings with the care leavers where necessary to foster a culture of inclusivity, ensuring that the wishes and views of care leavers are heard and actioned. · Participate in the effective transition and communication between staff which will enable clear and concise shift handovers. · Collect feedback from care leavers on a regular basis through different mediums to inform opportunities for continuous improvement. · Respond promptly and appropriately to any concerns raised by the care leavers. · Plan and Facilitate maintenance and cleaning of the building, ensuring all health and safety requirements, and legislation is adhered to and fulfilled. · Plan and support flat turnarounds to ensure that new tenants are able to move into Belinda Ferrison in a timely manner, and that the accommodation is to a high standard. · Deliver workshops and activities centred around needs identified in care leaver’s Local Authority Pathway Plans, Care Plans, and support plans. · Monitor CCTV and record visitors on site, ensuring that the building and tenants are actively safeguarded. · Ensure effective transition and communication between staff which will enable clear and concise shift handovers. 3. Quality Assurance and Compliance · To work collaboratively and in compliance with NCT’s contractual requirements and Ofsted legislation and standards. · Report any perceived or reported safeguarding issue in line with the organisations policies and procedures. · Promote a positive health and safety culture to meet and maintain legislation, company and external accreditation standards. · Build positive relationships with key stakeholders including but not limited to: Northamptonshire County Council, Police, Health Care Teams, Education and Training Providers, Facilities Management Provider, Youth Organisations · To effectively record information and data on the management information system (CHARMS) in line with policies and procedures and senior management requirements. · To provide required data and information to inform KPIS to the senior management and Quality Assurance team. · To ensure robust quality assurance reviews of entries from staff onto CHARMS as and when required through policies and procedures and senior management requirements. 4. I am proud to be part of this great organisation.” Purpose Working with clients, health professionals, service providers and employers, IPS Employment Specialists are focused on making sure a person’s journey into employment, with associated improved social inclusion and wellbeing, is as easy as possible. You will work with clients (managing a caseload) who have mental health support needs, to assist them in securing sustainable paid employment in line with their preferences. Your role will be to deliver the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach (for which training will be given), providing person centred advice and guidance to clients, whilst building positive relationships with local employers to enable clients to move into suitable employment. You will work as part of a primary care network, community mental health team and/or early intervention psychosis team or Improving Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT) team, maintaining positive and integrated relationships, fostering a holistic approach to recovery through employment. As an IPS Employment Specialist, you will need to be an able communicator, passionate about getting it right and focused on transforming individual lives through sustainable solutions. You will work with people on their individual employment journey from vocational profiling to the point where they no longer require face to face in work support. The six key stages on a typical journey are: outreach/referral; vocational profiling; action planning; job search activities (including working on a one-to-one basis with employers to match people with appropriate employment); job placement and coordinating support whilst in employment; managing withdrawal of support as the in work support is no longer required.  Download the Job Description for full details.
