    Company: Shakespeare Martineau PQE: 2 years + Term: Permanent Team: Commercial & IP Meet the team Our Intellectual Property team, which sits within our wider Commercial and Intellectual Property team, a core component of our Life & Business Group, advises across the broad spectrum of IP rights. We have wide experience in the protection, enforcement and exploitation of the full gamut of IP rights, including patents, trade marks, designs, copyright, advertising, confidential information, database rights, data protection. We have appeared in all the major Court fora, particularly the Patents Court and IPEC, and including the UKIPO. We also have considerable experience in licensing arrangements and technology transfer for both commercial and academic organisations. In 2022, we were delighted to win the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court “Team of the year” award, by Managing Intellectual Property magazine.We are ranked highly in all the national directories, as well as various international directories. The opportunity This is an exciting opportunity to join our vibrant IP team, focussing on IP work. You will be working on a wide range of work including both contentious and non-contentious IP law, assisting with advising companies and individuals on exploiting and enforcing their IP rights. The split of contentious to non-contentious work will vary from time to time. Responsibilities within the role: working alongside experienced senior lawyers who have a passion for IP building up your own caseload handling enquiries efficiently liaising with clients in a professional manner working to strict deadlines Skills and experience you will have: gained previous experience in IP law during your training contract you may already have a post graduate qualification in IP Law – if not we can support you in obtaining one strong IT skills the ability to manage files effectively Key competencies you will need: a desire to develop expertise in the fast moving area of IP law a desire to enhance client relationships through day-to-day activity excellent communication skills a high degree of initiative and the ability to cope in a demanding environment excellent organisational and prioritising skills the ability to work in a busy team How we work We embrace agile working and offer a blended approach to where and how we work. The opportunity We have a few exciting brand new roles for enthusiastic and driven Paralegals to join our Managed Legal Services Team. You will support the team in carrying out timely audits on behalf of the client. If time permits, you will also assist with other duties within the wider Managed Legal Services team.
