Job Summary:
We are seeking a creative self-motivated Research Scientist to develop mathematical models for mechanical systems dynamics. The job will require the ability to derive mathematical models of complex mechanical systems. The candidate will need to work constructively and effectively in a multidisciplinary team and engage with business and engineering teams to ensure their solutions have a significant impact. They will also present their work internally and externally.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Work in modelling complex mechanical systems dynamics. Review and report on different modelling approaches being developed within industry. Work with experimentalists to validate models and concepts and match models to experimental or field data. Engage and collaborate with the SLB technical community. Ability to develop novel solutions to research and engineering problems and articulate them to the technology team and management. Publish scientific papers, write patent applications and attend conferences.
Qualifications & Experience :
PhD in Applied Mathematics or similar discipline preferably with knowledge of Mechanical Engineering and related fields. Core subjects: Applied Mathematics (Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Numerical Methods). Engineering Mechanics (Statics and Dynamics), Vibrations and Acoustics, System Modelling and Simulation, and Control Systems. Computational skills: Proficiency in tools like MATLAB, Simulink, ANSYS, SolidWorks, Abaqus, or ADAMS (optional). Programming skills in Python, C++, or MATLAB for custom simulations. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: ability to derive mathematical models of mechanical systems. Identifying and quantifying uncertainties within mathematical models. Job Summary:
We are seeking a Development and Design Technician to become part of the Experimental Design and Support group within the organisation to assist in the design, manufacture and modification of experimental equipment across the site.
You should have a mechanical engineering background and experience in mechanical assembly, production of engineering designs, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Experience of welding, basic electrics and 3D printing would be an advantage. Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Engineer (Reservoir Engineer) is a key technical contributor with an appreciation of model creation approaches and how they are consumed in reservoir simulation. The successful candidate will utilise key reservoir engineer expertise to validate the applicability and quality of the newly developed software solutions.
Typical Responsibilities and Duties:
Review software requirement documents and provide input to improve product deliverables (including technical documentation). Design, create, review, organize and execute test strategy, test plans and test suites with focus on intended quality of application workflows and in close cooperation with the development team to ensure test plan completeness.
