THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE SANTANDER UK TRADE & SUPPLIER FINANCE is looking for a TRADE FINANCE MIDDLE OFFICE MANGER based out of MANCHESTER. Trade Finance is an integral part of the growth strategy for Santander Corporate & Commercial Bank. The individual is a key part of the Middle Office team, managing the end-to-end processing of Trade transactions directly and working with the processing hub(s) to deliver market leading service to the clients using Santander for their Trade Finance servicing. As a Trade Service Middle Office Manager, you will supervise a team who manages product portfolio, whilst checking and processing standard and specialist business transactions within tight timescales. You will lead the operational team through complex change. We're shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for: • Leading and developing a specialist operations team(s) to deliver excellent service, high performance and strong customer outcomes. • Leading the end-to-end delivery of complex Trade Finance transactions across one of the following specialist teams - Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Collections, Trade Loans, Supplier Finance and/or Trade Facilities. • Managing the full lifecycle of transactions, from issuance and amendments through to document checking, discrepancy management, payments, claims and ongoing servicing. • Approving and overseeing standard, non-standard and high-risk Trade Finance activity, ensuring strong control, accuracy and timely execution. • Providing expert guidance to subject matter experts and customers on Trade Finance products, structures, documentation, ICC rules (UCP600/URDG/URC/ISP98) and credit conditions. • Acting as a senior escalation point for complex transactional issues, documentary discrepancies, non-payment triggers and bespoke customer requirements. • Driving operational excellence through effective capacity planning, quality oversight, service improvement and performance management. • Ensuring robust risk management and compliance across all activity, including operational controls, AML and financial crime requirements. • Building strong partnerships with Front Office teams, customers and offshore processing partners to support efficient delivery and issue resolution. • Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve processes, enhance service and strengthen the overall client experience. • Ensuring operational environment stability through the transformation and thereafter. • Leading the effective management of operational incidents, driving timely escalation, root cause resolution, stakeholder communication and implementation of actions to reduce recurrence.
