You will operate as a trusted advisor, working alongside senior stakeholders and technical teams to deliver pragmatic, risk-led outcomes. /p p br /p p strong Key Responsibilities /strong /p p br /p ul li Provide expert advice on cyber risk management frameworks including ISO 27005 and NIST RMF /li li Lead risk identification, assessment and treatment across applications, infrastructure and digital services /li li Facilitate structured risk workshops and threat modelling sessions /li li Assess solution architectures to identify security risks and control gaps /li li Review and interpret IT Health Check outputs and define clear remediation plans /li li Produce concise reporting on risks, vulnerabilities and treatment options /li li Maintain and manage risk registers including residual risk position /li li Conduct gap analysis against recognised security frameworks /li li Evaluate third party suppliers and assess control effectiveness /li li Produce audit reports, controls assessments and security briefings /li li Work with delivery teams to ensure security is embedded throughout /li /ul p br /p p strong Experience Required /strong /p p br /p p This role is aligned to a technically credible and delivery focused consultant / cyber risk practioner; with an emphasis on real world risk assessment, not theory. Success will come from strong judgement, hands-on experience and the ability to operate effectively in a clearance constrained, stakeholder heavy environment. /p ul li Proven experience as a technical cyber risk practitioner, not purely advisory /li li Strong technical background with hands-on delivery of system level risk assessments across infrastructure, applications and cloud environments /li li Demonstrable experience identifying, assessing and treating risk within live systems, not just framework alignment /li li Experience operating in secure and regulated environments, ideally government or defence /li li Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and influence decisions /li li Ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable risk outcomes /li li Confident leading risk workshops, threat modelling and control assessments /li li Experience working within Agile delivery environments /li li Strong analytical capability and sound judgement /li li Any candidates must have an active SC level of security clearance to be considered. /li /ul p br /p p strong Technical Knowledge /strong /p p br /p ul li Security frameworks including ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS and NCSC guidance /li li Regulatory landscape including GDPR and PCI DSS /li li Familiarity with HMG and NCSC standards /li li Modern technology environments: /li li Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS and Google Cloud /li li Microsoft 365 /li li Infrastructure and network security /li li Zero Trust principles /li li Understanding of security architecture concepts /li /ul p strong /strong /p p strong Certifications /strong /p p br /p p Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC or equivalent.
