    The opportunity

    Science Group is seeking an enthusiastic  Facilities and Stores Operative to join our Facilities team on a full-time basis at our Epsom site. Reporting to the Group Facilities Manager, the successful candidate will play an important support role within the team.
    This role is suited to someone who thrives in a fast paced environment, is hands on and proactive, can prioritise their workload effectively, maintains a high level of accuracy, and demonstrates resilience.
    Please note that manual handling is required as part of this role; training in best practice will be provided.
    Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include (but are not limited to): Accept and manage delivery of foods and non-foods from clients ready for cooking instructions testing: temperature test food items on the delivery vehicle and accept or reject the delivery according to strict protocols; place accepted items into storage (fridges, freezers, ambient); advise relevant teams that the delivery has been received; book delivered samples in (sort, count and log items onto paperwork); transport items from stores to the test kitchen and lab areas when required Accept and manage delivery of goods for the site including lab chemicals and project consumables Handle food using best safe food-handling practices Monitor delivery schedules and respond appropriately to busier periods, including notifying teams of available storage space Maintain the housekeeping and order of the goods-in area and monitor equipment in that area Adhere to quality system documented processes Manage daily post – sort incoming post and ensure outgoing post is ready for collection, including special and recorded deliveries, and confirm receipt of parcels Arrange couriers and related documentation Raise purchase orders and process goods received in line with procurement procedures Match invoices to PO numbers and liaise with the Finance team to resolve any discrepancies Ensure accurate administrative records relating to purchasing, deliveries and stock management are maintained Conduct stock checks for dry goods/consumables and order/purchase goods for site Conduct stock checks for stationery and order/purchase stationery for the site Support the Facilities team with ad hoc maintenance tasks as required

    Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Some previous experience in a facilities, maintenance or stores/goods in role (preferred) Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling deliveries, stock and documentation Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment  Confident communicator, able to liaise with colleagues at all levels Strong administrative and IT skills, including Microsoft Packages ( Outlook, Excel, Word)   Able to use initiative and work independently where needed Resilience and a positive, proactive approach to supporting both facilities and stores functions Full UK driving licence (required for this Stores & Facilities Operative role) Other Requirements Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK and will be required to obtain BPSS clearance.

    The Operational Analysis team uses modelling, analysis, domain knowledge and approvals expertise to provide the evidence to make better decisions, in support of our customers within the defence and space sectors.
    In particular, we: Undertake research to analyse the benefits of new equipment, approaches or technologies Provide the evidence to support Government procurement decisions Work with customers and stakeholders to improve policy, strategy and planning
    What we’re looking forAs a Principal Consultant within Operational Analysis, you will be responsible for: Vision and Strategy: Assisting in setting the vision and strategy for the department in collaboration with the other capabilities. Ensuring that it is then communicated across the Company and aligned with the wider Sagentia Defence vision and strategy. Team leadership: Motivating, coaching and managing the performance of team members. Leading team meetings to share knowledge, co-ordinate activities, pursue opportunities and address issues.  Capability Development​: Developing and maintaining Operational Analysis service offerings aligned to account demand signal and collaborating with other departments to ensure services are coherent across the business.  As a Principal Consultant your focus will be developing: Operational Analysis Approvals Assurance Decision Support Modelling and Simulation Training and Development: Coaching people on the use of Operational Analysis tools and techniques. Staying at the forefront of profession, we encourage career development through attendance to conferences, steering committees and tailored training and development as and when required.   Business Development: Supporting Account Leads by writing technical approaches within bids and presenting to prospective customers. Collaborating with Account Leads to identify need for new capability across all our customers. Technical Assurance: Working on projects, providing technical guidance and review to ensure project deliverables are of a high quality and meet customers’ expectations.
    Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseYou will be someone with experience in leading tasks in an Operational Analysis discipline, with expertise in analysis, modelling or support to Government Approvals. You should have a positive, flexible and self-motivated attitude, and be keen to develop yourself and others within the team. 
    You will have experience in: Delivering Operational Analysis, Approvals Assurance, Decision Support and/or Modelling and Simulation in a consultancy context. Writing analysis documentation (e.g OASP, COA) or business cases. Capability Development of new tools and techniques. Providing technical guidance and reviews to ensure project deliverables are of a high quality and meet customers’ expectations. Leading teams in a consultancy setting. Working within public sector with knowledge of government processes. Managing a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally. Mentoring employees across all grades. Contributing and leading successful bids/technical proposals. If you are interested in applying for this role, candidates must have: An existing right to live and work in the UK. Either hold a current SC clearance or be willing and eligible to undergo a Security Clearance check (SC level) upon starting their employment with the company. To gain SC clearance you will normally need at least 5 years’ UK residency.
