    About the role: •    Handle the input, maintenance, and validation of payroll-related data covering salary, overtime, bonuses, Tax/NI, salary sacrifice, pension, and leave information.

    •    Maintain service levels, addressing issues and escalating when necessary.
    •    Contribute to process reviews and highlight areas for operational improvement.

      About you: •    Experience of Payroll, PAYE and statutory payments and an in-depth knowledge and experience of payroll calculations and processing.

    •    Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with data tools and systems.
    •    Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.

If you have a finance background with experience in IT audit, risk, or controls testing and can confidently communicate risks and controls to senior stakeholders we want to hear from you. About the RoleYou will lead internal IT control testing to provide second-line assurance over control effectiveness—focusing on IT General Controls (ITGCs), application controls, and SAP S/4HANA and cloud-based systems. You will support control remediation, manage the AuditBoard GRC platform, and contribute to the ongoing development of Royal Mail’s IT risk and controls framework. You will also: 
    •    Plan and execute annual IT controls testing across SAP S/4HANA, cloud, and on-prem environments
    •    Assess ITGCs (e.g., change management, access controls, SOC reports) and application/interface controls
    •    Coordinate testing and evidence collection with control owners and SMEs
    •    Collaborate on initiatives to improve control processes
    •    Support stakeholder reviews and approvals
    •    Promote IT controls awareness and training
    •    Mentor team members and control owners About You
    •    At least 3 years’ experience in IT audit, risk management, or controls testing within a large corporate or Big 4 consultancy.
    •    Strong knowledge of ITGCs, application controls, and internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).
    •    At least part qualified CIMA or ACCA.
    •    Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, including security roles, automated controls, and change management.
    •    Familiar with GRC platforms such as AuditBoard, SAP GRC, or similar.
    •    Up to date with key frameworks like COBIT and COSO.
    •    Excellent communicator - able to clearly convey risks and controls to senior stakeholders.

Shift patterns include:  Earlies: 06:00 - 14:00 (£14.48 p/h) Lates: 14:00 - 22:00 (£14.48 p/h) Nights: 22:00 - 06:00 (£15.74 p/h) Weekends: Various shifts available (as above p/h)
