    The Restaurant and Bar Manager Role

    As Restaurant & Bar Manager you will head up the team in our RGs Restaurant (2 Rosette standard), and two small private dining rooms, together with the restaurant terrace during the warmer months, and also our Elements Bar. You will be responsible for managing a full-time team to deliver outstanding standards of service. We are seeking a Restaurant & Bar Manager with passion for food, wine and service who will inspire and drive standards to even higher heights.

    The restaurant is open to residents, spa guest and non-residents so caterers for a wide range of discerning clients with many regular patrons. RG’s Restaurant seats 100 guests and you can expect to service 30-75 covers for dinner and between 40-80 covers for afternoon tea – with the busiest days at the weekend.

    The bar is open adjoining our Elements Braserie serving resident guests, spa guest and local visitors. 

    Service for guests covers breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days per week so candidates must be available for flexible shift patterns across 5 days including weekends.

    The team to support you consists of a permanent team of employees, Assistant Restaurant & Bar Manager, 2 x F&B Supervisor, and a team of permanent F&B Assistants boosted with a strong team of F & N Assistants and Bar Staff.

    Main Duties Include;

    • Ensuring the restaurant and bar is prepared for service and employees are briefed for service.
    • Meeting and greeting guests and being their host during their meal. Ensuring close liaison between bar and restaurant to ensure a smooth transition from bar to dining experience.
    • Taking guest orders.
    • Effective rostering of employees.
    • Coaching employees to develop their skills and ensure service standards are met.
    • Serving food and beverage including alcoholic beverages and wines.
    • Completing satisfaction checks and action all feedback.
    • Adhering to the Mystery Guest Standards and ensuring the team achieve the required standard.
    • Resolving any service issues.
    • Presenting bills to guests and taking payment. Ensuring till is balanced and cashed up accurately and room charges are transferred to resident’s room accounts.
    • Ensuring the restaurant is reset at the end of the shift ready for the next service.
    • Ensuring work area is clean and tidy before closing.
    • Working with the Executive Chef to develop the menus.
    • Ensuring effective ordering and control systems in place to ensure availability of products to guests while controlling stock holding levels.
    • Selecting and sourcing wines to compliment the menu items and guest’s requirements.
    • Recruitment, induction, training and coaching of all employees.

    The Role

    A cheerful, energetic person with a good eye for detail is needed to assist our Chefs and full time Kitchen Porters with the smooth running of the Kitchen at Rowhill Grange Hotel.

    Without a clean, well presented environment with clean, hot plates a kitchen fails. You will be key to us achieving excellent standards for our guests by supporting our chefs with the following duties;

    • Completing general kitchen cleaning duties
    • Operating the dishwasher to ensure all cutlery, crockery is cleaned in a timely fashion, stacked and ready for service
    • Refilling the hot plate ready for service each dining session to ensure guests get hot food!
    • Deep cleaning tasks as outlined on the kitchens cleaning schedule
    • Delivery through all these tasks of exceptional kitchen hygiene standards
    • Assisting in providing a safe, secure and appealing environment by adhering to the company Health &Safety Policies ensuring all kitchen areas are compliant.
    • Assisting Chefs with some basic food preparation.
    • 16 hrs 2 days per week, working early and late shifts between the hours of 7am and 11pm.

    Requirements

    • No formal qualifications required but a good standard of English
    • Good eye for detail
    • Energy and enthusiasm to work in a fast paced volume environment
    • Previous employment in a food service business helpful

    The Role

    A full-time permanent vacancy is available to head up our in-house maintenance team. You will ensure reactive and planned maintenance is covered over a 7-day period to assist in making sure the Hotel & Utopia Spa is presented appropriately and all facilities are maintained in excellent working order.

    You are supported by a Grounds Team of 2, and roaming team members from within the Alexander Hotel Group when required. Duties will include;

    • Scheduling tasks for the day and delegating and supporting the team to meet the maintenance demands of the day.
    • Completing general maintenance tasks from the daily maintenance list ensuring that priority tasks are completed.
    • Liaising and controlling external contractors when on site
    • Tasks will include boiler room maintenance, plumbing, electrical, carpentry/joinery, painting & decorating. While we are seeking a multi-skilled person, we do not expect you to be able to cover all these trades!
    • Working 5 days out of 7 including some weekend shifts. Shifts fall predominantly between the hours of 7am and 6.30pm (40 hrs per week) however late night or overnight working may be required by prior arrangement.

    Requirements

    • Ability to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment covering a wide range of general maintenance tasks in a customer environment.
    • General maintenance experience ideally within a guest/customer environment
    • Priority areas of experience either plumbing or electrical
    • Experience of working within a Spa environment including pool plant maintenance would be an advantage for this role.
    • Some on call for emergencies so you must live within 30 mins radius of the hotel.
    • Proven record of success in prioritising a range of property maintenance issues

    Our Housekeeping team is made up of a Housekeeping Supervisor together with a full-time permanent team of Housekeeping Assistants who work 35 hrs per week over 5 days, including weekends.

    The Role

    An experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to work with support from our Front of House Manager to ensure excellent standards of cleanliness throughout the hotel. Supervising a team of permanent employees to ensure all rooms, bathrooms/shower rooms and public areas of the hotel and spa are cleaned and presented to the highest standards

    • Allocation of duties to Housekeeping Assistants
    • Support and training of new Housekeeping Assistants
    • Checking of all bedrooms and bathrooms daily prior to guest occupation to ensure standards are achieved
    • Coaching employees to ensure standards are consistent
    • Get operationally involved in housekeeping and laundry as required to ensure all rooms are ready for guests check-in at 3pm
    • Ensure the Turndown service is effectively carried out to the required standard when on the late shift

    • Shifts cover 35 hours, over 5 days per week including the busy weekend periods

    The Role

    Reporting to our Head Chef Andres Garcia and the Sous Chef, you will assist him with all aspects of food production, with your primary responsibilities as Junior Sous Chef being to

    • Supervise the day-to-day kitchen operation.
    • Ensure that food is produced and served to the highest quality.
    • Alongside your culinary duties, you will be responsible for supporting the wider culinary team with daily operational tasks and people management tasks. This includes absence management, training, recognition, counselling and importantly, motivating and coaching the team.
    • Oversee the presentation of all food leaving the kitchen and uphold expectations, reputation, and standards.
    • Support more senior operational tasks such as menu development, order submission, allergen awareness, cost control and due diligence.

    Requirements

    • Chef de Partie experience within a quality hotel restaurant to 2 rosette standards.
    • Demonstrate during a cooking trial the practical ability and flair that will be required to drive and motivate others on the team to achieve.
    • Hold the experience to manage the multi menu requirements and busy banqueting operation.
    • Live locally or have the ability to relocate to the area with own transportation.
