    Counterbalance Forklift Driver Waste Management Shift: 4 on, 4 off (6am - 6pm) Contract: Full-time, temp to perm Location: Nottingham We are recruiting Counterbalance Forklift Drivers to join a busy waste management and recycling operation. You will support the safe and efficient movement of materials around the site, working within a fast-paced industrial environment. This is a hands-on position, and you may also be required to assist with general site and operational duties. Key responsibilities Operate a counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently. Load, unload and move recyclable materials around the site. Supply materials to the correct processing and storage areas. Assist with vehicle loading and unloading. Complete daily forklift inspections and report any faults. Maintain clean, safe and organised working areas. Follow site procedures, risk assessments and health and safety requirements. Assist with general site duties when the forklift is not required. Work closely with production and yard colleagues to maintain site efficiency. Skills and experience A valid counterbalance forklift licence is essential. Previous forklift driving experience in a busy industrial, manufacturing, recycling or warehouse environment. Comfortable working around waste and recyclable materials. Good awareness of workplace health and safety. Reliable and able to work the full 4-on, 4-off shift pattern. The successful candidate will lead by example, help maintain productivity and ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently. Working hours: 4 on 4 off. 6am - 6pm. Key responsibilities Coordinate operatives and allocate daily workloads. Work hands-on alongside the team when required. Ensure waste is correctly sorted, processed and stored. Monitor productivity and help the team achieve daily targets. Conduct basic equipment and workplace safety checks. Ensure health, safety and environmental procedures are followed. Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the site. Support the training and development of new employees. Report operational issues, breakdowns and safety concerns to management. Complete basic production and compliance paperwork. Provide cover for the supervisor when required. The ideal candidate Previous experience in waste management, recycling, manufacturing, warehousing or a similar industrial environment. Some experience leading or supervising a small team.
