Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Doncaster (DN5)£46, starting salary | 4 on 4 off shifts (days & nights)We are recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established engineering team at a large-scale industrial site in Doncaster. This is a permanent role with an excellent starting salary and long-term stability.About the RoleThe Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all electrical systems on-site. The role covers both preventative and reactive maintenance to ensure plant reliability, compliance, and minimal downtime. You’ll be part of a team that supports 24/7 operations, working a 12-hour 4 on 4 off shift pattern (days and nights).Key ResponsibilitiesPlanned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Carry out scheduled inspections, testing, and servicing of electrical equipment to prevent breakdowns and maintain compliance with statutory requirements.Fault Diagnosis & Repair: Respond quickly to electrical failures, identify root causes using systematic fault-finding methods, and carry out repairs to minimise disruption to production.Installation & Modifications: Support new installations, upgrades, and modifications to machinery and electrical systems, ensuring all work meets current regulations and company standards.Electrical Systems Work: Maintain and repair control panels, drives, motors, sensors, and factory-wide electrical infrastructure, ensuring all systems remain safe and reliable.Documentation & Compliance: Accurately complete maintenance logs, compliance paperwork, and technical reports to ensure traceability and adherence to regulatory requirements.Health & Safety: Conduct risk assessments, follow isolation procedures, and adhere strictly to site Health & Safety policies, always ensuring a safe working environment.Team Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical engineers, production teams, and contractors to resolve issues quickly, share technical knowledge, and support overall plant performance.Shift Cover: Provide flexible support to cover team absences when required, ensuring the site always has the right engineering cover in place.Housekeeping & Standards: Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised working environment in line with best practice and operational standards.What We’re Looking For:Recognised apprenticeship or electrical qualification (C&G / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)Strong experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in an industrial or process environmentKnowledge of inverter drives and basic PLC logicAbility to work independently and within a multi-skilled teamStrong problem-solving and fault-finding skillsCalm, methodical approach under pressureExcellent communication skillsWhy Apply?Salary up to £46,4 on 4 off shift pattern (days & nights) with regular time offOvertime opportunities availableCompetitive pension schemeFree on-site parkingUniform, tools, and PPE providedAdditional training and professional qualifications supportedLong-term career progression opportunitiesThis is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer seeking stability, variety, and the chance to work with high-spec plant and equipment in a supportive environment.
