Welcome to Aquarius as a Floating Housing Support Practitioner.Right now, Aquarius Action Projects, is looking for a Floating Housing Support Practitioner to join their team. 
    Your challenge? Working across the borough of Solihull, as a Floating Housing Support Practitioner you will be working with clients who are vulnerably housed or homeless, working in clients’ homes and various locations to support clients. Ensuring a person-centred approach, you will be supporting those who use our service to maintain their tenancy and reduce the risk of homelessness, building support networks, independence and overall wellbeing in the community. Providing a more structured longer term floating support service to enable clients to maintain their tenancies, you will understand the barriers clients face to accessing services. 
    We are looking for an energetic and confident self-starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth or community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse and housing and homeless field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. As well as good knowledge of alcohol/drug and health related issues, you're used to liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and comfortable engaging with clients in a variety of service delivery settings. What’s more, you have a flexible approach, a commitment to the principles of confidentiality and excellent record keeping and Microsoft Office. You will need to be able to work flexibly in terms of working hours to support your clients.

Our mission is to enable others to find the support they need within their local community.     About the role...
    As a member of the multi disciplinary team, you will be running a variety of peer support groups as well as working with service users one-on-one in order to build their recovery capital and achieve their recovery goals. We aim to help people to build and sustain long-term recovery from addiction and encourage self-efficacy believing that everyone is an expert in themselves, they often need a helping hand on their journey.

    We are seeking a positive and motivated individuals who have the ability to navigate a fast-paced and challenging client group with a variety of complex needs. Direct substance use knowledge is not essential but preferred, and we encourage applications from those with transferrable skills and experience.Evening and weekend work may be required, which will be rota based depending on service delivery.

    You will be expected to.. Manage a service user caseload, devising, implementing and reviewing on-going recovery plans and treatment, liaising closely with the full range of workers and skills within the service team, including family members and significant others as appropriate.Carry out triage/screening assessments and comprehensive assessments with service users.Work collaboratively with partner agencies to undertake shared assessments, key working and interventions to promote individual service user progression from engagement, through structured treatment to self-sustained recovery.Facilitate service user access to treatment and community resources to increase recovery and social capital, supporting service users and their families within their local community.Develop and deliver quality programs and packages of work/ psychosocial interventions that meet local need across both group work and one to one formats.

    You will be responsible for supervising and leading a dedicated and passionate team of staff. Responsibilities include providing support to staff in relation to case management and engagement, providing quality and effective supervision, chairing meetings, ensuring achievement against key performance indicators and developing the service on offer in Haringey.

    The post holder will therefore require experience of working with people with experience of substance misuse problems and the complex issues and concerns that they face. The poster holder will have previous experience of supervising staff and the ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of the need to deliver excellent support to individuals accessing the service.
    We are looking for a creative and dynamic individual who enjoys working within a busy team. The ability to work to a high degree of accuracy and meet deadlines amongst competing priorities is vital in this position.
