    We’re looking for a kind, dedicated, and reliable Support Worker to join our friendly team in Long Eaton. This is a rewarding opportunity to support a gentleman in his own home and out in the community, helping him to live as independently and happily as possible. 💛 About the Role The individuals we support may have autism, learning disabilities, have a forensic background and at times can display behaviours of concern, therefore you must have the ability to follow detailed support plans in order to ensure a consistent approach. You’ll play an important role in providing day-to-day support with: Personal care and daily living tasks Cooking, cleaning, shopping, and medication support Supporting hobbies and community activities Accessing the community to an activity of their choice or to purchase their weekly food shop The person you’ll support lives in his own bungalow and receives 1:1 support from 8am–10pm, plus sleep-in support overnight (10pm–8am). Please note: sleep-in shifts are not contracted for any employee. He has a passion for gardening and loves growing his own fruit and vegetables. He’s also very creative — his home is filled with his artwork, woodwork, and craft projects. He’s always looking for new ideas for his next creation, so no two days are the same! 🕓 Working Hours 39 hours per week, with shifts including days, nights, evenings and weekends.     We are currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at the Longstone Housing Support Service. This is a meaningful role where you will support adults with complex needs to live fulfilling, independent lives in a homely, supportive environment. About the Service The Longstone service consists of two Houses of Multiple Occupancy (HMOs), each supporting four men with a range of needs, including: Learning Disabilities Autism Cerebral Palsy Epilepsy Physical Disabilities (including wheelchair users) Limited or non-verbal communication Support within the service includes the use of tracking and manual hoists for transfers. All hoisting and medication administration is carried out by two staff members at all times. About the role: As a Domiciliary Support Worker you will assist people with daily living tasks which may include, domestic services, social support, personal care, support with medication, meal preparation, and managing their finances. You will also support with activities within their local community and must be happy in all weathers as many of the people we support lead active lives. This role is supporting individuals with varying levels of learning disabilities and Autism, you would also be required to cover Sleep-in’s. The role may comprise various shifts including mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends, sleepovers will include an allowance. Previous experience is desirable for this position, but don’t let that put you off, if you have the right enthusiasm and a can-do attitude, we want to hear from you, as full training will be provided. You will be expected to work in Part of your training will include several shadow shifts with an experienced member of staff. Must be over 18 years old,  A DBS for both adult and children will be required for this role. You must have the ability to follow detailed support plans in order to better enable the people we support. Shift Patterns A typical shift would be between the hours of 8am - 9pm. All shifts are 13 hour shifts.  Real Life Options offers flexible employment opportunities.
