We are seeking a Business Development Manager/Executive to help broaden our reach, identify new opportunities and ensure we fully maximise our existing relationships.This newly created role is central to generating opportunities, embedding our proposition within intermediary firms and developing a “Partnership Model” that delivers value to professional partners and drives new business growth. You will collaborate not only with the Corporate & Entrepreneur team, but also Professional Services and with the External Adviser BDM team, Technical Specialists and Marketing.The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the corporate and entrepreneur space, a good understanding of the entrepreneurial journey and key legal/tax touchpoints, and the ability to build trusted relationships with business owners and professional advisers. You will ideally bring some connections across corporate finance, legal and accountancy firms, be a confident communicator and collaborative team player, and demonstrate strong self‑motivation and commercial focus. You should be able to advocate for Quilter Cheviot’s proposition, curate high‑quality pitches and connect prospects with internal experts and trusted third‑party professionals to deliver an exceptional client experience.Reporting directly to the Head of Client Development – Corporate & Entrepreneur, you will collaborate with the Sales Support Analyst, Financial Planners, Investment Managers and professional services partners. Your responsibilities will include:Build and develop strong relationships with business owners, entrepreneurs and key professional services firms (corporate finance, legal, tax and accountancy).Work collaboratively with the BDM team, Financial Planners and Investment Managers to support and grow relationships with key intermediary firms across the UK.Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Quilter Cheviot’s products and services, and when these are appropriate for prospects and clients.Build a strong understanding of key intermediary services and identify opportunities for reciprocal referrals where appropriate.Provide training and insight to solicitors, accountants, professional partners and internal stakeholders on Quilter Cheviot’s offerings and the entrepreneur/corporate segment.Use prospecting tools to identify high‑potential prospects and share targeted intelligence with CECE members.Collate and analyse information about target intermediaries and market activity to support business development planning.Identify opportunities to introduce Quilter Cheviot’s technical support teams to intermediaries and coordinate their involvement where beneficial.Develop and manage a “panel” of key intermediary relationships and be accountable for the ongoing servicing and development of those connections.Support the onboarding process for new clients by liaising effectively with intermediaries and internal teams to ensure seamless handovers.Contribute to and deliver CECE meeting actions, share market insights, and support the refinement of the corporate and entrepreneur proposition.Help prepare and coordinate bespoke, high‑impact pitches, bringing together the right internal specialists and trusted third‑party partners.Communicate Quilter Cheviot’s proposition confidently through presentations, written material and social media (e.g., LinkedIn).Gather and present feedback from intermediaries and prospects to help identify service gaps and Key responsibilities include:Prepare monthly T&C reports/ KPIsAssist with other reporting such as FCA returnsAssistance in administration of T&C processesOwn and develop documented T&C processesT&C system administration (Worksmart and Competent Adviser)Coordinate annual review of induction/policy materialManage ensuring T&C records are up to dateSupport in delivery of ad hoc T&C projects, in particular with respect to T&C systemsAbout YouYou will have an interest and willingness to learn about the T&C framework and regulations within Financial Services, as well as a desire to support the growth of our people, is key for this role.You will have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, and be able to balance managing routine daily, and timebound tasks, with cyclical events.You will have strong analytical skills and be able to manage data and generate reports to track key metrics and reporting points for the team. You will have experience of managing regular reporting cycles.You will have strong knowledge of Excel, including the ability to use functionality such as VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
