    As a Lunchtime Supervisor you will work within a small team to ensure an organised approach to meal breaks. Students should receive their meals in a timely manner, in a clean, tidy and safe environment. The college supports students with Autism and complex needs, you will support the students over the lunchtime period assisting them with eating and personal care if needed. 
    Key Responsibilities Facilitate the dinner queue, communicating effectively with students. Supervise & support learners eating meals. Ensure crockery, cutlery, trays and leftovers are returned by learners to relevant collection and disposal points Deal with spillages in Dining Hall. Ensure student behaviour management and safeguarding processes are followed, ensuring any incidents are properly reported to the duty manager or LSA manager.  Work effectively with catering staff and learning support staff to ensure a positive lunchtime experience for students, including following agreed strategies with individual students where necessary Demonstrate a positive attitude towards disability and assist those students who may need help. Any other relevant duties as directed by the line manager or Catering Manager (where appropriate).  Attend any training and development identified by the LSA management team to support job performance or that is a QAC requirement e.g. safeguarding, equality, H&S, food hygiene.  Follow College policies and procedures as directed by the line manager.

This includes students postural management in their wheelchairs, seating within class, use of standing frames, and time out on the bed for position change and pressure relief.     Key ResponsibilitiesPostural Management· Assess, implement, and review students’ postural management plans across all settings (wheelchair, classroom seating, standing frames, and bed-based positioning).· Ensure equipment is correctly fitted, safe, and appropriate for each individual’s needs.· Monitor and adapt postural strategies to support pressure relief, comfort, function, and participation in learning.2. Assessment & Intervention· Carry out comprehensive occupational therapy assessments of students’ physical, sensory, and functional needs.· Develop tailored programmes to promote independence, functional mobility, and safe participation in school life.· Provide specialist advice on assistive technology, mobility aids, and adaptive equipment.3.     Key Responsibilities An enthusiastic individual who is able to motivate students and is passionate about promoting creativity and keen to ensure it is embedded into the culture. Introduce students to a range of mixed IT whilst encouraging and aiding students to help develop their creativity and individualism via numerous Creative Design forms and media. Creative in the use of emerging technologies and/or teaching approaches to help students learn and progress whilst creating an inspirational learning environment with the needs of students at front of mind. Provide a constant IT curriculum and implement a team approach to working with students using appropriate digital devices, assistive technology, IT interactive resources and practical activities technology as an educational learning tool. Deliver, plan, and assess the curriculum in an innovative, responsible and flexible manner using a highly individualised approach in collaboration with the Curriculum Area Manager, ensuring the Intent, Implementation and Impact is clear. Plan, assess and record the individual achievements of each learner against Individual Learning Plans, EHCP Plans and in accordance with RARPA (where applicable), moderation/awarding board and funding agency criteria. Deliver quality teaching and learning in line with professional standards and tailored to individual learner needs grounded in an informed understanding of their EHCP, goals after QAC in particular, and other assessments. Prepare schemes of work and differentiated lesson planning to make clear the purpose and intent of the taught sessions. Lead sessions in accordance with good practice in terms of timed, scaffolded and sequenced learning that ensures lesson objectives are implemented and students’ progress can be checked. Ensure assessments include appropriate means of feedback and feedforward; and progress recorded and shared with learners. Contribute to the development of the curriculum through preparation, research, liaison with colleagues and relevant external agencies and management of resources. This should be appropriate to learner needs, outcomes set and conforms to the requirements of examination boards (if required) and funding agencies. Evaluate the quality and success of the curriculum and implement into the curriculum quality improvement plan and self-assessment report.  To have a clear understanding of the Education Inspection Framework, in line with OFSTED inspections Participate in the PSHE curriculum and pastoral welfare of learners, specifically as a group tutor and personal tutor who is an integral part in helping shape, support, monitor the learner journey. Plan, assess and deliver course content in areas such as Employability, Preparation for Adulthood, Functional Skills or other similar provisions within your timetable as directed by the Curriculum Area Manager. The post-holder will be expected to become familiar with the technological support available to students with visual impairment and other learning difficulties.  Promote the aims and ethos of the College both within the teaching and learning context and within the corporate life of the College. Participate in staff training and development within the requirements of the College's programmes and priorities.  The post-holder will be expected to develop communication methods for learners with moderate to severe learning difficulties and to become a competent user of the technological support available to students with visual impairments/MLD and or/other learning difficulties as required.     Our Community Services based at our Umberslade Campus in Stirchley include a supporter worker service, women's group, men's group,  LGBTQ plus group, Saturday Socials, The Night Owl Experience (disability friendly night club visit in Birmingham City Centre).
