Based in our QHE head office in Coventry, you will be the technical and commercial lead responsible for structuring complex engineering bids. This pivotal role involves analysing customer specifications/requirements, defining comprehensive project scopes, and developing accurate, competitive cost models for bespoke capital equipment globally. You will collaborate closely with the global sales and engineering teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically sound, commercially viable, and position Quaker Houghton as the partner of choice for turn-key projects. The role also involves managing the Spares and Services team to deliver efficient aftermarket support. Tasks Lead and support intercompany bespoke capital equipment and services sales by building estimates and technical proposals for global sales teams. Prepare detailed cost estimates for all equipment elements and assemble these into a total project costing. Negotiate pricing and contractual terms, ensuring optimum margins and positive business cash flow is achieved. Work with the engineering team to produce comprehensive proposal/quotation documents in line with customer requirements and applicable regulations. Liaise with suppliers where necessary to obtain price, availability, and product information. Assist in the development of standardised methods, tools, and documentation manuals, to improve cost estimation and proposal production. Requirements What We Are Looking For Required Education & Experience: Proven experience as a Proposals Engineer or in a similar technical role, ideally within manufacturing or industrial fluids. Extensive technical, commercial sales and cost estimation experience. Must have strong experience of understanding and interpreting client specifications/requirements. Essential Skills & Competencies: Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D design package or similar. Proficient MS Office and competent MS Project user. A strong problem-solving character with good communication skills. Nice To Have: Metal working knowledge. Chemical process knowledge. Project management experience. Experience and understanding standard regulations (e.g. CE Marking, risk assessments, systems and mechanics) Benefits What's in it for you? Tasks Manage the cleanliness on the shop floor in the most efficient manner on a day to day basis.
