Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon Independent Practice (West Sussex / Surrey Border)
Full-Time or Part-Time | 4-Day Week | 1:6 OOH with Accommodation | Supportive Team
This is a genuinely friendly and progressive independent practice with a close-knit veterinary team. The vacancy has arisen as one of their vets is relocating to overseas, and the clinic is now looking to bring in a new colleague with a smooth handover period planned.
You'd be joining a 6-vet small animal team (plus 3 equine ambulatory vets), with a strong mix of experience and support available. The practice prides itself on collaboration if a weekend on call becomes busy, the team actively supports one another, swapping where needed to keep workloads fair.
Full-time is 4 days per week, though part-time options can be considered. The on-call rota is 1 in 6, covering only the practice's own patients, from Friday evening to Monday morning. Accommodation is available onsite during OOH if preferred. Consults run at 20 minutes, and vets normally enjoy at least one dedicated operating day per week, along with additional cases arising from OOH.
The practice recently expanded into the upper floor of the building to increase clinical space, with longer-term plans toward hospital development. Equipment includes digital imaging, IDEXX in-house lab, new scopes, and the practice is open to investment, with laparoscopy currently under consideration.
