    PropSource Consulting have partnered with an IPP (Independent Power Producer) energy developer to support the growth of their Planning team. They’re a multi-disciplinary firm with a fast paced environment in a supportive and collaborative office, where hard work is rewarded. They’re a team of 30 professionals, covering other disciplines such as land and design. Due to their recent transition to become an IPP they are looking to grow their Planning Team and are looking for a safe pair of hands to become their new Planning Lead.
    This is an opportunity to dive into, or continue your career in the exciting world of renewable energy and work on national projects.
    You must have: At least 3 years experience in town planning in either a consultancy or developer environment A proactive and self sufficient mindset A degree in Town Planning or an equivalent qualification in a related field Thorough understanding of UK planning systems, policies, and regulatory processes MRTPI membership or working towards Driving license with access to car
    Responsibilities: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including environmental, legal, and engineering specialists to support the successful delivery of projects Oversee and coordinate planning applications, predominantly for solar and battery storage developments Build and maintain effective relationships with local authorities, consultants, and community stakeholders to support the planning and consultation process Represent the organisation at planning committees, public engagement events, and key stakeholder meetings Contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities and assisting in the preparation of bids and project proposals

    This role is for someone who can confidently engage across the board - from local communities to political stakeholders - ensuring consultations are inclusive, impactful and strategic.
    What You’ll Do: Develop and deliver consultation strategies across a range of built environment projects Run community events, workshops, and engagement sessions Liaise with both political stakeholders and residents, translating complex issues into clear, actionable insights Draft compelling copy and develop campaign materials Analyse feedback, write reports, and present recommendations to clients Manage multiple projects and support new business pitches
    What You’ll Bring: Experience in built environment communications, engagement, or planning/public affairs Confidence working with both political figures and communities Strong project management skills Excellent writing, listening, facilitation, and presentation abilities A proactive, team-oriented mindset aligned with core values such as strategic thinking, delivering results, and effective communication
