Our skilled Technicians, Mechanics, Fabricators and Engineers work together every step of the way to design, build and then run elite competition cars on the track and off road across the globe.We are recruiting a Data Engineer to join the Rally Engineering team. The role takes responsibility for the vehicle’s data architecture, ensures quality of the information gathered and performs relevant analysis for the evaluation and optimisation of the rally car’s performance and reliability.Key Accountabilities:Travelling role: Data Engineer at all test and rally events of the World Rally Raid Championship.Car sensor specification, calibration, and testing for Events and pre-Event testing in accordance with guidelines set by the Rally Engineering Group. Ensure that car commences each event, and is maintained throughout, with the optimum configuration. Ensure that spare parts are readily available and track sensors spare parts purchases.Prompt publication of accurate and detailed Engineering documents and reports before (simulation analysis, sensitivity studies, system configuration) and after each Event and test (data findings, simulation correlation, performance of failsafe strategies, etc.).Ability to effectively communicate data findings to Rally Engineers and lead data troubleshooting efforts at test and rally events. Capable of using data processing and analysis as a decision-making tool.Ensure good communication with the crew, engine, and design groups regarding all channel strategies, whether to monitor, control, or failsafe contingencies. Additionally, ensure that driver requests are communicated appropriately within the team. What we are looking for: Proficiency in data analysis software programs (e.g., Motec i2, WinDarab, ATLAS, etc.)Hands-on experience with data acquisition hardware (loom, data logger, sensor technologies, etc.) and relevant softwareGood understanding of vehicle dynamics theory and applicationAbility to develop internal tools/software for data processing and analysisEducated to Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (e.g., Mechanical or Automotive Engineering)Candidate should ideally have experience of working in a similar role engineering for a Manufacturer Team in the WRC or Rally Raid. We are the world’s leading independent motorsport company and the business behind some of the greatest names and achievements in motorsport over the last 40 years.We have an exciting opportunity to be part of the Prodrive engine development team to assist in the development and calibration of race and niche road engines and engine components including engine auxiliary systems, chain drive systems, valve train components, oil systems, induction & turbo systems, exhaust systems and engine calibration on multiple platforms in line with engine performance and durability targets set by the Chief Engineer and relevant regulations.You will assist track side as Engine Engineer and on many different Prodrive products including GT and Rally Raid. Assist with engine and car calibration on niche road car applications and in race engine pool management and engine and team operations track side including engine and chassis calibration.Key responsibilities: To undertake development projects to achieve project engineering objectives including performance, durability goals within tight time and cost boundaries.To devise, organise and carry out development tests including but not limited to Engine dyno tests for performance development, durability testing, calibration, production engine signoff.Torsional vibration studies using high speed loggers and analysis softwareGeneral development of engine systems such as oil systems, cooling systems, exhaust and inlet systems. Turbo systems.Valve train dynamic studies using rig testing / high speed loggersOrganise other development tests including airflow rigs etc. To set specifications and in some cases design of development test partsLiaise with suppliers and technical partners on various engineering activitiesTo provide track side engine support for Prodrive race and rally cars with the factory team and or customer teams and support engine pool planning and ensure engines are operated within strict guidelines.Analysis of test data and preparation of formal reports Who are we looking for? The ideal candidate will have proven experience in race engine calibration both on test cells and in-car, along with experience in base engine development within a respected high-end organisation. They will hold a degree in an engineering discipline and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, remaining calm under pressure. The role requires the ability to inspire and manage technical staff to achieve engine group goals, with determination to meet challenging targets within tight timescales. The candidate should have a strong analytical approach to problem solving, a broad understanding of internal combustion race engine fundamentals, and practical experience with engine calibration on the dyno and in-car. Knowledge of analysis and simulation tools, race vehicle platforms (including Bosch and Cosworth PI/Pectel systems), electronics, CAD systems (ideally NX), and professional test equipment is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a willingness to travel are also required.What can we offer you? The Prodrive Group comprises of Motorsport, Advanced Technology, Brand&, and Lifestyle businesses, benefitting from four decades of sporting and commercial success and a reputation for complex programme execution.We are looking for a Production Engineer to produce CNC programs for our Machine Shop, ensuring they are supported by all relevant documentation including tool lists, set up sheets and fixture design.Key Responsibilities:Produce CNC programs and any other information for shop floor on request.Help ensure a smooth day to day running of the small batch-based manufacturing operation which includes one off prototype work.Scheduling and pricing of work.Liaison with Designers, Buyers, internal and external customers.Maintain accurate and up-to-date Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) records.Prepare and distribute weekly maintenance sheets for the machine shop.Monitor and verify maintenance reports, investigating and challenging any discrepancies between reported issues and the actual condition of machines.Actively contribute to machine servicing schedules, including coordinating and booking engineering visits when required.Order tools and consumables as required to ensure continuous operations.Maintain and restock the tool vending machine to ensure availability and proper inventory levels.Complete structures and routings within the ERP system to ensure job packs are accurate and ready for production on the shop floor.Ensure all machines are well maintained whilst keeping all relevant documentation up to date. Who are we looking for?Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience creating 5-axis and 3-axis programming using Hypermill CAD/CAM and a machining background including batch work and prototypes. You will have experience using Fanuc and Heidenhain contol, with proficiency in using Vericut for collision check. With good knowledge of metal cutting tools (Aluminium, Steel and Titanium), you will be able to read engineering drawings using the latest GD&T, and have a flexible and proactive work ethic.. Knowledge of pricing, creating routing and structure for new parts would be an advantage.What can we offer you?
