Rather than building the function from the ground up, youll inherit a capable team, mature fire safety systems and a positive safety culture, with the backing of senior leadership to drive continuous improvement. /p p br /p p The estate is varied and complex, comprising historic buildings, modern developments and Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs), alongside an exciting programme of refurbishment and new-build projects, making this a technically challenging and rewarding leadership role. /p p br /p p strong The Role /strong /p p As Head of Fire Safety, you will: /p ul li Lead and continually develop the organisations Fire Safety Management System and Fire Safety Strategy. /li li Oversee the Fire Risk Assessment programme, ensuring robust governance and compliance. /li li Act as the organisations technical expert on all fire safety matters. /li li Provide strategic advice to senior leaders, project teams and key stakeholders. /li li Support major capital and refurbishment projects from a fire safety perspective. /li li Build strong relationships with enforcing authorities and external partners. /li li Lead, mentor and develop a dedicated Fire Safety team while promoting a proactive fire safety culture across the organisation. /li /ul p br /p p strong About the Head of Fire Safety /strong /p ul li Experience leading fire safety across a large, complex or multi-site estate. /li li Strong working knowledge of the strong Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order /strong , strong Fire Safety Act /strong and strong Building Safety Act /strong . /li li Experience managing Fire Risk Assessment programmes and delivering strategic fire safety advice. /li li A collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. /li li A recognised fire safety qualification together with relevant professional membership (or equivalent experience). /li li Proven experience managing, mentoring and developing technical fire safety teams. /li /ul p br /p p strong Whats in it for you? /strong /p ul li Youll receive 34 days annual leave plus bank holidays, along with 2 additional paid volunteering days each year, and be enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
