    Description
    We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Cashier to join our accounts team on a permanent basis as we continue to grow the team. The successful candidate will provide effective legal cashiering assistance to the wider accounts team in our Yeovil office. You will be working with a team of experienced finance professionals and will be responsible for providing effective assistance to ensure the smooth running of our finance operations. 


    Key Responsibilities
    Role responsibilities include but are not limited to: Ensuring all transactions strictly adhere to SRA Accounts Rules, or equivalent regulatory standards to prevent financial breaches. Handling incoming and outgoing funds, including bank transfers (CHAPS/BACS), cheques, and payments to and from client and office account. Maintaining and balancing both client and office bank accounts. Reconciling daily bank statements with the firm’s internal records. Producing client bills and processing disbursements. Handling of internal and external queries via telephone and email. Miscellaneous administrative duties.

    Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
    This role would best suit someone who has excellent numeracy, IT administration and organisation skills alongside a keen eye for detail, a professional and confident manner and great interpersonal skills.     DescriptionDue to exceptional growth, we have a number of exciting fee earning opportunities up to Senior Associate within our residential property team. We are pleased to offer flexibility in terms of office location as well as hybrid and remote working options. Our residential team cover the full spectrum of residential property law comprising sale and/or purchase of a property or land, remortgage, equity release or auction. 


    Key Responsibilities Caseload Management: Handle diverse residential conveyancing matters, including freehold, leasehold, new builds, shared ownership, transfers, and buy-to-let properties. Legal Advice: Offer clear, practical, and commercially sound legal guidance to clients throughout the property lifecycle. Documentation: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, reports on title, and other property-related legal documents. Due Diligence: Conduct property searches, check titles, and prepare client reports. Liaison: Communicate proactively with clients, lenders, estate agents, surveyors, and other professionals to keep transactions moving. Post-Completion: Manage registrations, Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) submissions, and file closure. Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) procedures
    Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseWorking in our Residential Property department, this role would best suit someone who is pro-active and enthusiastic, with great interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels. Strong organisational and administrative skills are essential, along with the ability to multi-task and a confident telephone manner. More technical requirements include excellent IT skills including the use of Microsoft office. Ideally you will have experience in a law firm environment providing legal support to fee earners. 

    Qualification Requirements: Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with practice rights to carry our reserved legal activities or Licenced Conveyancer.

Manage a client's bank accounts, investments, and benefits, which can include making regular payments, creating budgets, and liaising with banks and utility companies. Draft documents like witness statements and court applications. Represent the deputy or client at Court of Protection hearings. Supervise junior members of the team, including legal assistants and paralegals. Investigate any suspicions of financial abuse.

Ideally you will have some exposure to private client work already and a compassionate and considered approach with the ability to engage with people at all levels.
