    This role is an exciting opportunity to lead delivery of major infrastructure projects, including new bridges over waterways and a railway, to help create an ambitious, sustainable and vibrant new community of 8,500 homes at the Gilston Park Estate in East Hertfordshire.
    Gilston Park Estate is a once in a generation opportunity to deliver six distinct new villages bound together by landscape and community to the north of Harlow. It is unique in its design and infrastructure-led approach, with six distinct villages, each with their own character, buffered by accessible green spaces and, crucially, linked by a sustainable transport network which will enable residents' direct access to Harlow's economic opportunities and infrastructure plus accessibility by road and rail to elsewhere to achieve ambitious 60% modal shift targets. The infrastructure to be delivered includes major highways projects including new bridges over a river and railway, new country parks, community amenities and works to service and enable land for 8,500 new homes and supporting amenities including a leisure centre, sports facilities and a health centre.

More about your role This role is an exciting opportunity to lead delivery of major infrastructure projects and help create an ambitious, sustainable and vibrant new community of 8,500 homes along with supporting community infrastructure and amenities at the Gilston Park Estate in East Hertfordshire. You will be responsible for delivering major construction and infrastructure projects from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. This will include new bridges over waterways and a railway. The role covers strategic planning, procurement, and financial oversight, managing internal and external multi-disciplinary teams to achieve value for money and meet legal and regulatory obligations. It drives approvals, contract administration, and change control while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and providing clear progress reporting to support business objectives. More about you It is essential for this role that you have major infrastructure experience. We're looking for an experienced professional with a track record of delivering multiple infrastructure projects such as bridges, highways, utilities, drainage, and civils. You'll have a strong understanding of construction methodologies, contract management (NEC, JCT, ICC), and regulatory compliance, combined with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships. Join a community that cares about you! More about your role You will primarily carry out electrical work in domestic properties, with occasional tasks in commercial buildings. This includes upgrades, repairs to consumer units, rewiring, fault finding, and emergency lighting. You should be familiar with domestic electrical installations and have a solid understanding of 3-phase systems. Adherence to the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, BS 7671, and related guidelines is essential. You'll perform periodic inspections, testing, and complete necessary certifications in line with IEE Wiring Regulations. Compliance with BS 7671 and EAWR 1989 is a must. If qualified, you'll conduct PAT testing for electrical equipment. You must ensure all work is done to a high standard, leaving properties clean and tidy. You will collaborate with schedulers, supervisors, and compliance teams and communicate with customers to meet operational targets and KPIs. Timely and accurate completion of paperwork and data transfer is required. As part of our employment checks, this role will require you to complete a satisfactory Basic DBS check.  Although this role is advertised in a specific location, you will be required to work in surrounding areas. Essential Criteria  Qualified to L3 Electrical - NVQ, SVQ, C&G L3 - AM2, and 18th edition (amendment 2) Hold a valid driving license  Have good understanding of health and safety  More about you You should be qualified with an L3 Electrical certification (NVQ, SVQ, C&G L3, AM2, and 18th edition). Strong organizational skills are essential for planning workloads, estimating supplies, and managing time. A positive attitude toward health and safety is required, ensuring compliance with policy and standards. Good communication skills are necessary, as well as the ability to use a tablet or smartphone to record activities, capture images, and input survey data. A current driving license is also required. Preferred qualifications include Electrical C&G 2391 or equivalent, and a L2 trade qualification in an additional relevant trade.
