    Senior Care Lead & Senior Care AssistantWe currently have an opportunity for a Senior Care Lead and Senior Care Assistant to join our dedicated Care Team in our residential care home for older people in Walton-on-the-Naze, Essex. See our home .Our enthusiastic and motivated care team provides care 24/7 for our residents. The Senior Care Lead and Senior Care Assistant role is vital in the residential care of older people, promoting their health and well-being on a personal level. Find out more about how we care for our residents: Luff House offers residential care, dementia care and respite care along with retirement support in a superb, purpose-built environment on the fringes of Frinton-on-Sea. The health, well-being and happiness of our residents are of primary importance to us.Responsibilities:Providing senior cover for the Home at all times, day and night, with the other members of the senior team.Taking a share of on-call cover as required with members of the management team.Supervise all staff on the Care Team during your period of duty (including among other responsibilities: taking responsibility for Health, Safety and Security; administering medications to residents; arranging cover for staff who are absent through sickness; etc).Devising, implementing and maintaining approved personal Care Plans and regularly monitoring the condition of family members, responding to observed changes and treatments being administered. Including:Providing appropriate levels of nutrition especially in the area of fortified or modified diets to prevent choking when a person is suffering from dysphagia, and malnutrition (as measured against the MUST tool). Administer PEG feeds if required to do so.Provide high quality, professional service of care to our residents.Help a resident with personal cleanliness such as helping a resident with a bath.Support residents to eat and drink.Get to know residents so as to comfort, assist and give reassurance when needed.Supervise the care and well-being of our residents.Ensure residents’ care plans are up-to-date.Support our residents to keep independent and healthy and encourage them to be part of the community within the home.Treat others as individuals with unique and diverse needs and treat our residents with dignity and respect.Assist in the care at end of life.In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, you are required to perform other duties assigned by your manager from time to time that are within your capabilities.About you:You need to be someone who enjoys working with older people and can have empathy with them;You must have a RQF accreditation in Health & Social care at level 2 or above;You have a minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Senior Care Assistant in residential care;You must be willing to both lead shifts and take a “hands-on” role as required; andYou need to be able to work in a team and be willing to take on any task to provide an excellent level of care to our residents. View our wonderful home .Responsibilities:Clean client rooms and common areas;Help to keep the home hygienic, fresh and tidy;Liaise with the Manager on cleaning schedules and cleaning material stock control;Receive/collect items for laundering including, clothing, bedding, soft furnishings and household linens;Fold items correctly, distribute residents’ clothing and store linen and household items safely;Maintain the Laundry and linen stores in a safe, clean, tidy condition;Wash up the catering equipment and utensils;Maintain the general cleanliness of the kitchen and catering equipment;Ensure all water and other spillages are cleaned up immediately after they occur;Maintain records as required by your manager;Attend meetings and training activities including fire and evacuation procedures etc. as required;In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, you are required to perform other duties assigned by your manager from time to time that are within your capabilities.For more details, please take a look at the  About you:You need to be someone who enjoys working with older people and can have an empathy with them;You must be able to prepare food to a good standard;You should have a basic food hygiene certificate and a food-related qualification (this would be an advantage but is not essential);You need to be able to work as part of a team in order to provide an excellent service to our residents;You must be a well-organised, practical and adaptable person.For more details, please take a look at the
    Hours:Bank shifts to cover for sickness, absence and holidays.Must be flexible to cover the shift times required 8am - 2pm and/or 4pm – 7pm. This is also often at weekends.
