    The role
    The Technology Disaster Recovery Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the organisation's IT disaster recovery (DR) strategy, plans, and testing. This role ensures that critical IT services can be restored quickly and effectively in the event of a disaster or significant disruption. The manager will collaborate with the business to align IT DR capabilities and testing with operational resilience needs and with business risk appetite. The manager will implement internal policies and standards and address regulatory requirements
    - Disaster Recovery Strategy: Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery strategy that articulates how the DR capabilities address the business operational resilience scenarios.
    - Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans and procedures for IT systems and services.
    - Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats. Update plans based on changing business needs and emerging risks.
    - Testing and Validation: Organise and conduct regular disaster recovery drills and simulations to test the effectiveness of recovery plans.
    - Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between IT and business leadership to facilitate understanding and support for disaster recovery initiatives.
    - Training and Awareness: Develop training programs and materials to educate employees about disaster recovery procedures and their roles in the process.
    - Documentation and Reporting: Maintain up-to-date documentation of disaster recovery plans, procedures, and testing results.

    - Demonstrable experience in IT disaster recovery, business continuity, or related areas.

    - Process Design & Optimisation: Lead the design, documentation, and implementation of IT processes and workflows aimed at improving service delivery, operational efficiency, and system performance.

    - Process Improvement: Continuously assess and refine IT processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement best practices to streamline operations and enhance service quality. Focuses on designing, implementing, and improving IT processes based on the ITIL framework, ensuring IT services align with business needs and customer expectations.

    - Technology Integration: Ensure that IT processes are integrated with the latest technologies, tools, and platforms, such as automation, cloud computing, and enterprise software.

    - Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilise data analytics to monitor the effectiveness of IT processes, identify areas for improvement, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to leadership.
