About the role:
Pertemps Social Care is working with our client to recruit an experienced Locum Team Manager for one of their Children’s Duty & Assessment Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a high-performing frontline team in a fast-paced environment, where you’ll make crucial decisions to safeguard and support children and families. You’ll be responsible for managing and developing a team of social workers handling new referrals, Section 47 enquiries, and child in need assessments — ensuring timely and effective interventions that make a real difference.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:Lead and manage a team of social workers in a busy duty and assessment service.Oversee decision-making on referrals and child protection enquiries.Ensure high-quality assessments, effective case direction, and compliance with statutory duties.Provide reflective supervision, guidance, and performance oversight.Work closely with partner agencies to deliver strong multi-agency safeguarding practice.Support service development and quality improvement initiatives.
What you need:
A degree in Social Work or equivalentRegistered with Social Work EnglandAt least 3 years PQE direct employment within English Local AuthoritiesCompleted relevant post-qualifying trainingEnhanced DBS checkExcellent communication and written skills
