A warm and welcoming professional family is seeking an experienced Live-Out Housekeeper Cook to join their household on a part-time, permanent basis. The family comprises two busy working Principals and two children aged 10 and 12 years old. Both Principals maintain demanding careers – one commuting to London several days per week and the other working from home whilst also travelling for work. The family is looking for a friendly, proactive, and self-sufficient domestic professional to help reduce the daily mental load, keep the household running smoothly, and enable them to spend more quality time together as a family.
The property is a charming three-storey Victorian house comprising four bedrooms, two study rooms, three reception areas, and three bathrooms. Norwich is a vibrant and historic city offering excellent amenities, green spaces, and a wonderful quality of life, with good transport links for those commuting from the surrounding areas.
As this is a live-out position, no accommodation is provided. The property is centrally located in Norwich with good access to public transport, making it easily commutable for candidates residing locally.
Working as a Housekeeper Cook within a private household requires an individual who takes pride in maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming home environment whilst also providing freshly prepared, healthy meals for the family. The role demands initiative, reliability, and a friendly, approachable demeanour. Position: Live-Out Housekeeper Cook
Type: Part-Time, Permanent (Self-Employed Basis)
Working Days: Monday to Friday (flexible)
Working Hours: Approximately 20–25 hours per week
Language: Fluent English
Salary: £20–£26 per hour gross (depending on experience)

Key Duties
Daily cleaning, tidying, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the property
General household organisation, including working through areas requiring deeper organisation and decluttering
Laundry duties, including washing, drying, ironing, and putting away
Preparing fresh, healthy, home-cooked meals: simple, nutritious family meals rather than elaborate cuisine
Assisting with grocery shopping – receiving home deliveries and adding items to the online shop as required
Being present in the afternoons when the children return from school, keeping an eye on them whilst Principals may be working from home
Monitoring household supplies and restocking as necessary
General household support and flexibility to assist wherever needed
Minimal Requirements
Three or more years of private Housekeeper Cook experience
Two excellent, checkable references from previous private employers
Fluent English
Valid UK working permit
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Experience preparing healthy, home-cooked family meals
Proactive and able to use initiative
Comfortable following household instructions and to-do lists
