Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present an excellent part-time live-out Housekeeper opportunity supporting a gentleman living in a truly unique and historically significant 18th-century Scottish home. Nestled in a dramatic coastal setting and surrounded by stunning Highland scenery, the property offers a peaceful and beautiful working environment. Due to the rural location, applicants must hold a full driving licence and be comfortable commuting by car within approximately 20–25km of the residence.

The home consists of three floors, including several active bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, charming reception rooms, and a rarely used top floor that primarily functions as organised storage. The principal lives alone with two friendly senior cats and enjoys a quiet lifestyle focused on writing and research.
The successful candidate will be a trustworthy, proactive, and experienced housekeeper able to work independently and maintain the high standards expected in a historic property. This role is ideally suited to someone who prefers a stable, long-term part-time engagement and who is comfortable managing housekeeping autonomously. While the position is typically structured as 6-10 hours per week, the principal is open to discussing two shorter days should the right candidate prefer this arrangement.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
General housekeeping of an 18th-century home, ensuring all living areas, bedrooms, and bathrooms are kept clean, tidy, and well maintained
Weekly deep-cleaning tasks including dusting, hoovering, mopping, and polishing
Cleaning the stove/grate
Replenishing the log basket with firewood or smokeless fuel (winter only)
Organising supplies near the back porch
Laundry management including washing, drying, folding, ironing, and wardrobe organisation
Handling bed linen for guest bedrooms as required when family or visitors stay
Occasional lighter duties on the top floor (primarily storage and light hoovering)
Kitchen upkeep, appliance cleaning, and ensuring communal areas remain presentable
Proactive use of initiative to identify tasks, maintain household routines, and support the smooth running of the property
Minimal Requirements:
5+ years of private Housekeeper experience
Two excellent checkable references
Conversational English
Full UK working permit
Full driving licence and own car (essential)
