- Senior Modeller Water Supply , focused on hands-on network modelling, consultant oversight, and practical advice to support operations and planning.
- Principal Modeller Three Waters , a strategic technical leader who will shape direction across water supply, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
About the Role
Senior Modeller Water Supply
Youll work closely with the Drinking Water Modelling Lead, taking ownership of technical delivery, including model builds, running and calibrating InfoWorks WS Pro models, interpreting results, and providing actionable insights to support network operations and future planning. Roughly one-third of the role involves managing and reviewing the work of consultants, ensuring quality and appropriate use of models. Strong communication and delivery coordination skills are essential.
Principal Modeller Three Waters
This is a rare opportunity to influence investment and strategy across all three waters water supply, stormwater, and wastewater without direct people management responsibilities. Youll guide the use of modelling to inform infrastructure decisions, working with senior stakeholders to interpret technical findings and shape direction, manage risk. Youll ideally bring expertise in multiple modelling disciplines and be confident working across teams. If youre a specialist in one discipline and ready to grow your influence, this role offers the chance to do just that.
What Youll Bring
Were looking for people with:
- A tertiary qualification in Civil / Environmental Engineering or a related field.
- Hands-on modelling experience, ideally gained in consultancy and technical delivery roles.
- Capability in model building, calibration, and technical/peer review.
- Familiarity with modelling platforms InfoWorks WS Pro, ICM, or similar software.
- The ability to translate technical outputs into practical advice for non-technical teams.
- A collaborative, adaptable approach and willingness to work in a changing environment.

These are full-time positions of 40 hours per week. The remuneration for the Senior Water Supply Modeller role is $106,892 to 150,906 NZD p.a. (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience. The remuneration for the Principal Modeller role is $115,635 - $163,250 NZD p.a. (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience.
