You’ll have good communication skills, an excellent telephone manner and a caring, professional approach. Previous office or reception experience, including word processing and using computerised record systems, is an advantage, but not essential.     The Senior Financial Accountant will lead PDSA’s financial accounting, controls, and treasury functions, ensuring compliance, strong governance, and high quality reporting. The role also drives strategic improvements across systems, processes, and financial planning to support long term organisational sustainability. Main responsibilities:
    •  Lead and develop the Financial Accounting and Treasury teams
    •  Oversee month end and year end close processes
    •  Design and implement financial controls and risk management frameworks
    •  Lead financial systems projects, including ERP upgrades and automation
    •  Manage treasury operations, including investments and liquidity planning
    •  Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures
    •  Provide strategic oversight of tax compliance (VAT, corporation tax, PAYE)
    •  Support senior leadership with financial strategy, modelling and capital planning
    •  Act as primary liaison with external auditors, HMRC and banking partners
    •  Act as Deputy to the Head of Financial Accounting with delegated authority
