    Brief role description:

    This role holder will support our employees throughout their employment lifecycle and will also provide support with payroll and recruitment. This role ensures that all people related administration is handled effectively, efficiently and professionally.

    Main responsibilities:

    Ensure all HR-related administration linked to the employee lifecycle, benefits & documentation is processed efficiently and appropriately, including management of data changes with external providers.
    Run Monthly payroll processes for countries outside of APAC & resolving issues with payroll providers.
    Provide support to our recruitment process from advertising, screening candidates and arranging interviews to answering queries from candidates.
    Own and deliver HR related projects as and when required such as the annual performance review process and annual salary review cycle.
    Ensuring there are office health and safety protocols (including risk assessments, fire marshals, and first aiders) for the UK offices, maintaining compliance with local regulations.

    Essential experience requirements:

    - Experience with working in HR.
    - Experience of preparing monthly payrolls for external processing and administering benefits with third party providers.
    - Experience of issuing employee documentation & supporting the administration of the employee lifecycle (leavers, absences etc).
    - Experience helping solve problems and being confident communicating in a variety of formats.
    - Knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to HR, as well as knowledge of best practice.
    - Proactive at identifying and implementing improvements in processes such as payroll and recruitment.
    - Experience in managing personnel records and ensuring these are kept up to date and accurate at all times.

    Desirable experience requirements:

    - Experience with working in the charity sector.
    - Experience in managing recruitment.

    Professional certification requirements:

    - CIPD Level 5 (Level 7 desirable) or equivalent experience.

The overall
    role of the Board is to ensure good governance, delivery of the aims and objectives of the charity and to provide strategic leadership to determine its future direction.

    The Trustee role operates at the most senior level of the organisation shaping the strategic aims, and hence the whole of the operations, of parkrun Global. The translation of strategy and policy into actions is the responsibility of the paid officers of parkrun Global, under the direction of the CEO.

    Nature & Scope
    ● Strategic Direction: Trustees bring a wider view of external factors affecting parkrun, and the global environment it operates in, and thereby provide creative, informed and constructive input when
    considering the objectives and plans submitted by the CEO.
    ● Monitoring: Trustees are ultimately responsible for the performance of parkrun Global and monitor the performance of the senior leadership team in achieving parkrun ‘s strategy and objectives.
    ● Communication: Trustees play an important part in developing social, health, business and sporting network contacts with key organisations in order to obtain views and influence wider
    opinion.
    ● Finance: In ensuring the company and charity accounts properly reflect a true and fair representation of its actions and financial performance, and have oversight of risk management, Trustees must be satisfied that the necessary internal controls are in place and monitored regularly and rigorously. They must ensure the appropriate use of funds.
    ● parkrun Global structure: parkrun Global is both a limited company by guarantee (under English law) and a charity. It has several subsidiaries and operates in many countries through a franchise
    agreement.
    ● Legal: Trustees must ensure that the global organisation and subsidiaries work within the legal and regulatory framework.

    Principal accountabilities
    ● To determine the future of the organisation and protect its assets and reputation, giving due consideration to the impact of decisions on parkrun Global’s stakeholders.
    ● To exercise inclusive leadership and direction and play a key role in the determination and reinforcement of the values and ethical position of parkrun Global.
    ● To act as a champion and uphold parkrun’s values with regards to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).
    ● To provide a creative contribution to the operation of parkrun Global by offering constructive criticism and an independent view, removed from the day to day running of the organisation.
    ● To operate within a legislative framework of fiduciary duties, and with responsibility for Health & Safety, to apply skill and care in performing these duties.
    ● To ensure that parkrun Global fulfils its statutory duties under the Companies Act 2006 and related legislation and to appoint competent person(s) to carry out these duties.
    ● To ensure parkrun Global fulfils its duty under the regulations of the Charity Commission and the Code of Governance of Sport England.
    ● To ensure, through the officers, that all its subsidiaries are working with the legal requirements of company law within their own countries and volunteer groups are working within the licence agreements.

    Knowledge & experience
    Our Trustees bring a range of skills and experience to the charity. As we expand further across the world, we are specifically looking for global experience and with one of these two skill sets and experiences:

    ● Knowledge of sports governance, whether in a National Governing Body or other
    similar entity, and safeguarding.
    AND / OR
    ● Significant experience as an Ambassador and/or Event Director at parkrun.

    Knowledge and experience of digital, charity governance or fundraising within a charity would also be preferred.

    One of the two profiles could also have the ability and experience to fulfil the role of Welfare and Safety Lead for the Board. In addition to having experience in one or more of the areas listed above, the ideal candidate will:
    ● have extensive and varied life experiences, operated across different cultures and regions
    ● Senior leadership experience either at Executive or Non-Executive level is desirable.
    ● be motivated by social impact
    ● be committed to promoting greater diversity and inclusivity
    ● bring qualities to the Board of independence, impartiality, interest in health & wellbeing and
    professional integrity
    ● show demonstrable energy and enthusiasm for contributing advice and guidance as part of the
    Board of parkrun Global

    ● be able to network effectively, particularly at board/senior levels, within the health, social, community and charity sectors, and with funding partners
    ● understand the concept of collective responsibility and exhibit this in their Board discussions.

    Trustee expectations and time commitment
    Term: Every trustee has an annual review with the Chair. The maximum term of office is nine years (a3-year term which can be renewed up to a maximum of 3 times).
    Time commitment:
    Estimated 1-2 days per month. This includes attending usually four board meetings a year in person as well sub-committee meetings as required (sub-committees are usually virtual), and any annual gatherings. Trustees usually join one or two sub-committees.
    Meetings are held mainly in Richmond, West London, but could be anywhere in the UK and we are looking for board members based in the UK with global experience. All accessibility needs will be met.
