Maintenance EngineerPurpose of the RoleAs a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across the contract, ensuring the client’s mechanical and electrical assets are maintained in a safe, efficient, and fully operational condition.This role plays a key part in the day-to-day running of the contract. You’ll be well organised, able to work to agreed timescales, respond effectively to emergency situations, and operate confidently both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.The RoleYou will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems across the client’s estate. Working closely with the Account Manager, Helpdesk, and wider FM team, you’ll ensure all maintenance activity is delivered in line with statutory requirements, KPIs, and SLAs, while maintaining a strong focus on health, safety, and customer service.Clear communication with clients, end users, and colleagues is essential, as is accurate completion of documentation and system updates.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works on mechanical and electrical systems, using the CAFM system via mobile app within agreed timeframesMaintain and repair plant, equipment, and associated components, ensuring assets remain safe, compliant, and fully operationalUndertake fault finding and reactive repairs on mechanical and electrical systems as requiredMaintain site logbooks and records, including electrical, mechanical, water systems, and health & safety documentationService and maintain TMVs across the client’s estateIdentify, report, and escalate statutory maintenance issues or compliance risks to the Account Manager where works cannot be completedProactively identify hazards, near misses, and safety concerns, reporting them via the relevant systems and to site managementLiaise professionally and courteously with clients, end users, subcontractors, and colleagues at all timesComplete small installation and repair works as directed by the Account Manager and Helpdesk SchedulerEnsure all paperwork and reporting is accurate, complete, and submitted in line with agreed KPIs and SLAsKeep the Helpdesk informed of job progress, delays, and changes to scopeCommunicate the impact of maintenance and repair activities ahead of works being carried outSupport team development by sharing knowledge and skills to promote safe and continuous site operationsBe flexible to support business needs, including occasional evening, weekend, or public holiday workingUndertake any other reasonable duties required under the contractKnowledge, Skills & ExperienceEssentialCity & Guilds Level III (or equivalent) in Electrical and Mechanical disciplines18th Edition I.E.EStrong understanding of safe electrical working practices and the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989Proven experience in maintenance, testing, and fault finding across building services systemsDesirableCity & Guilds BS 2391 Level 3 – Electrical Inspection & TestingIOSH Working SafelyPASMA and IPAF (1b / 3a / 3b)Unvented hot water systems trainingExperience with BMS, generators, controls, lighting, plumbing, drainage, LPHW, pressurisation, ventilation, ACOP L8, and cooling tower systemsHigh Voltage systems experience with valid certificationBehavioural CompetenciesCustomer-focused with a flexible and proactive approachStrong written and verbal communication skillsA collaborative team player who supports colleagues when neededAble to prioritise and deliver in high-pressure, business-critical environmentsConfidentialityIn the course of this role, you may have access to confidential or sensitive information.
