Foot Mobile Maintenance EngineerReporting to: Contract Supervisor, Contract Administrator, Contract Manager
Working closely with: Mobile Engineering TeamPurpose of the RoleAs a Foot Mobile Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across client sites, supporting the Contract Supervisor and wider management team.The purpose of the role is to ensure the client’s mechanical and electrical assets are maintained in a safe, efficient, and fully operational condition. You’ll be well organised, able to work to agreed timescales, respond effectively to emergency situations, and operate confidently both independently and as part of a mobile engineering team.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works on mechanical and electrical systemsMaintain plant, equipment, and associated components in good working orderReview and monitor subcontractor performance during specialist service visits and repair worksComplete simPRO instruction sets accurately, including photographic evidence for completed tasksMaintain site logbooks and compliance records for electrical, mechanical, water systems, and health & safetyEscalate any issues relating to statutory planned maintenance to the Supervisor or Management teamMaintain comfortable environmental conditions through effective operation of HVAC systemsRespond to plant and equipment failures, carrying out fault finding on mechanical and electrical systemsRespond to BMS alarms and use the system for first-line diagnosticsIdentify and report potential hazards or safety concerns promptlyMaintain full operational knowledge of all plant and services, including:Plant start-up and shutdown (normal and emergency)Running checks and plant changeoverFault finding and optimisation of plant run timesCarry out regular housekeeping and site walk-rounds to ensure:Plant rooms are clean and tidyNo health and safety risks are presentPlant is operating in line with building specificationsLiaise professionally and courteously with clients, end users, and colleaguesComplete maintenance, repairs, and small installation works as directedMaintain accurate documentation including test reports and service reportsKeep Business Support and Supervisors informed of work progress and any delaysCommunicate the impact of maintenance or repair works prior to executionShare knowledge and skills to support safe and continuous site operationsImmediately escalate any real or potential risks to personnel safety or critical plant reliabilityIsolate and make safe electrical and pressure systems, confirming dead / de-pressurised where requiredBe flexible to support business needs, including occasional evening, weekend, or public holiday workingUndertake any other reasonable duties required under the contractKnowledge, Skills & ExperienceEssentialCity & Guilds Level III (or equivalent) in Electrical disciplineCity & Guilds Level III (or equivalent) in Mechanical discipline18th Edition I.E.EStrong understanding of Electricity at Work Regulations and safe working practicesProven experience in maintenance, testing, and fault finding across building services systemsDesirableCity & Guilds BS 2391 Level 3 – Electrical Inspection & TestingIOSH Working SafelyPASMA and IPAF (1b / 3a / 3b)Unvented hot water systems trainingExperience with BMS, generators, controls, lighting, plumbing, drainage, LPHW, pressurisation, ventilation, ACOP L8 and cooling tower systemsHigh Voltage systems experience with valid certificationBehavioural CompetenciesCustomer-focused with a flexible working approachStrong written and verbal communication skillsCollaborative team player who supports colleagues when neededAble to prioritise and perform effectively in high-pressure, business-critical environmentsConfidentialityYou may have access to confidential or sensitive information in the course of your role.
