Let’s grow together … Purpose of the role To consider underwriting referrals from all new business lines of the Paragon Banking Group that exceed local mandate authorities and those which are outside of Credit Policy.
    To support the effective underwriting of Credit proposals across a breadth of residential buy-to-let, motor finance, residential property development and SME trading business sectors, either jointly approving within own personal delegated credit authority or supporting to Sanctioning Committee. To undertake 2nd line quality assurance oversight of new and existing lending, applying a comprehensive risk assessment approach to ensure that key credit risks are identified, monitored and efficiently controlled. Duties and responsibilities Consider underwriting referrals from the Bank’s various new business lines through the application of a Credit Committee mandate. Review, assess and (where appropriate) restructure credit recommendations for approval or onward recommendation to Sanctioning Committee. Complete 2nd line quality assurance oversight of new business applications by ensuring that the proposals being accepted are within the Bank’s risk appetite. Facilitate and chair monthly Credit Risk Review meetings between the business lines and Credit Risk. Participate in lending initiatives and projects as they relate to Credit Risk. Support the business lines in maintaining up to date and relevant policies & procedures. Support the Procurement Team in the annual credit review of key suppliers. About You Skills A minimum of 10 years credit underwriting experience across a breadth of lending sectors. Direct experience of Asset Finance underwriting in the SME sector would be an advantage. Demonstrate an ability to operate a Senior Underwriting mandate through an understanding of risk appetites, capital considerations and complex corporate lending structures/entities. Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent. Ability to work self-sufficiently on own initiative and effectively manage completion of own objectives. A full and demonstrable understanding of the credit cycle through strong business awareness. Attention to detail and excellent investigation/risk management skills. Advanced report writing skills. Effective communication, presentation, and people management skills. Use of MS Office software for data analysis and review reports Working Hours Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours hybrid role, 2 days in the office. The role will involve ensuring that all paperwork and Fleet management system is completed timely, accurately and to a high standard and to carrying out repairs, maintenance, servicing to vehicles as and when required.
    Duties and responsibilities To ensure that all vehicles booked into the workshop have had all work completed, or have been re-booked as a re-visit repair (items considered safe to be used), before being returned to the customer To complete all paperwork required for the task/ job completed and return this documentation to the workshop controller immediately on completion of the inspection/work To ensure that the all ordered parts for jobs are correct for the work required You will be required to assist other technicians with repairs when required. Along with completing the workshop controller’s duties when required Fully use the fleet management system (Fleetwave) as required Adhere to SFS Health and Safety policies at all times To ensure that the workshop and parking area are kept clean and tidy and that all customer/SFS vehicles are parked efficiently and ensure that the walkways are kept clear at all times. All vehicles when parked outside are to be locked and keys kept secure at all times
    To ensure that all equipment being used by you and other staff is in a safe condition to be used. Ensure that all equipment is only used for the task it was designed for and is returned to the correct place of storage after use. You must report any failures in operation of the equipment to the workshop controller To attend vehicle breakdowns on site as and when required, (a workshop vehicle/van will be provided) Ensure that NO vehicle is returned to the customer, unless it is safe to be returned for their use To create and maintain a professional relationship with SFS staff, customers and suppliers Be on standby 24/7 on a weekly basis as and when required A flexible approach must be maintained in all work duties, in order to provide adequate cover to service the workshops and customers’ requirements
    About You Skills A full clean HGV driving license category C required as a minimum As a minimum 5 years’ technical experience on municipal vehicles (e.g. refuse, sweepers, etc) Technical experience on vehicle electrical systems (12+24 volts), hydraulic and pneumatic systems Evidence of qualifications and training in the following areas: - recognised time served on an apprenticeship scheme, VOSA vehicle inspection course, municipal vehicle manufacturing training Understanding of Health & Safety rules and regulations An ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable Skills Attention to detail IT skills with knowledge of MS office systems Organisation skills with ability to multitask and priorities deadlines. Recommend new credit proposals outside of your personal mandate for submission to Senior Credit Managers. Preparation of credit papers for submission to Senior Credit Managers and Credit Risk. Overview credit proposals that are above other underwriter’s mandates and approve or, if not supportive, provide feedback to the underwriter. Ensure credit analysis of each proposal is appropriate for the level of advance and will meet the QA process. Provide guidance to the credit team and the wider SME business on credit policy and appetite. To support and assist the Senior Credit Managers and where required, deputise for them. Ensure annual reviews are completed accurately and on time. Build effective relationships within SME Lending, the Bank and attend customer visits as and when required. Encourage an open culture with regular two-way communication with not only the Credit team but the rest of the business including Sales, Asset Management and Collections/Recoveries. About You What you’ll bring to the team You will have strong commercial lending experience in both unsecured and secured lending and be able to demonstrate an understanding of funding a wide range of assets and lending structures. An ability to work in a direct and broker origination model to support SME Lending's internal and external sales teams and understand the different dynamics involved. Make sound commercial decisions where necessary to support the business whilst remaining within credit policy. Advanced written and presentation skills in order to produce credit papers for overview by higher mandate holders including Credit Risk
