Job overview The Gastroenterology and Hepatology Clinical Trials Facility (CTF) is embedded in the Translational Gastroenterology and Liver Unit (TGLU) and runs clinical trials for patients with inflammatory bowel and liver disease, in collaboration with gastroenterologists, hepatologists, industry partners and the Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN). In , the portfolio expanded to include colorectal surgical trials, encompassing the diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and functional bowel conditions. We are seeking a Band Research Nurse to join our established, experienced, and supportive research team.
The CTF exclusively manages a large number of trials both commercial and academic. Our department comprises a large team of research nurses, practitioners and administrators who have an extensive portfolio of studies across both hepatology and gastroenterology research teams and share the facilities to deliver on these. We are excited by our recent expansion to support colorectal surgical trials which would be a focus for this post. We collaborate closely with the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) who monitor recruitment, provide nursing resources and organise meetings for healthcare professionals in the South Central RRDN, which provides a fantastic networking opportunity. Main duties of the job The postholder will play a key role in recruiting patients to colorectal surgical studies within our extensive portfolio of trials, monitoring and evaluating care, and liaising with senior clinicians across services. They will be part of exciting projects helping to facilitate new pathways of care and will be able to communicate with senior doctors and be the first port of call for patients receiving new and innovative treatments.
