I'm seeking a highly skilled OT/ICS Security Specialist to support a critical infrastructure client in strengthening their operational technology security posture. This is a hands-on contract role ideal for someone with deep technical expertise across industrial control systems, compliance frameworks, and Fortinet technologies.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support OT security operations across SCADA, DCS, EMS, and field environmentsAdminister and engineer content for FortiSIEM, integrating with Fortinet ecosystem (FortiGate, Analyzer, Manager)Develop and maintain monitoring use cases for OT assets (IEDs, HMIs, historians)Detect and respond to OT security incidents with low-impact containment strategiesImplement compensating controls for vulnerability and risk management in OT environmentsAutomate tasks and enhance workflows using Python, APIs, and custom parsersEnsure compliance with NIS CAF or equivalent standards (IEC 62443, NERC CIP, ISO 27001, NIST)Communicate effectively with stakeholders, manage vendors, and uphold safety and change control processes Technical ExpertiseICS protocols and architectures: Purdue Model, IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, IEC 104Fortinet product suite and SIEM integrationOT security tooling and architecture design Certifications (Preferred)GICSP, IEC 62443, ISO Lead Auditor, CISSP, Fortinet NSE RequirementsMust be able to attend on-site in Ipswich 2 days per weekEligible to work Inside IR35Available for a 3-month engagement
