Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to develop business opportunities and support customers across the UK and Ireland. This role combines consultative technical sales with hands-on customer engagement and offers the opportunity to work with world-class surface metrology instrumentation at the forefront of engineering measurement technology. You will work closely with customers to understand their measurement challenges, demonstrate system capabilities and develop tailored solutions that deliver measurable value. Key Responsibilities Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities across the UK and Ireland Manage and grow relationships with existing customers Conduct technical presentations, demonstrations and consultations Understand customer applications and recommend appropriate metrology solutions Prepare quotations, proposals and technical documentation Manage the complete sales process from initial enquiry to successful order completion Work closely with applications, service and logistics teams to ensure customer satisfaction Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts and activity reports Attend exhibitions, conferences and industry events Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets and objectives About You Essential Proven experience in technical sales, applications engineering or sales engineering Degree or equivalent qualification in: Manufacturing Engineering Materials Engineering Or a related engineering or scientific discipline Strong presentation and communication skills Ability to build relationships with engineers, researchers and senior decision-makers Commercially aware with a consultative sales approach Self-motivated and capable of managing a territory independently Full UK driving licence Willingness to travel throughout the UK and Ireland Highly Desirable Experience in surface metrology Qualification, academic research or industry experience related to surface measurement, roughness analysis or topography measurement Experience selling metrology, scientific instrumentation, measurement systems or capital equipment Understanding of manufacturing quality control and precision engineering processes Knowledge of optical measurement techniques Familiarity with optical profilers, interferometry or non-contact measurement technologies Experience working with industrial, research or academic customers CRM experience If you think you would be suitable, we would love to hear from you!
