Work alongside other clinical team members and optometrists for outpatient consultations and pre assessment of patients. Key responsibilities: Hold accountability for the delivery of high quality patient care throughout their visit to Optegra. Work closely with clinical and patient services staff to ensure the smooth running of operating lists. Completing diagnostic testing on patients in clinic, including Biometry, OCT, AScan, Visual fields, Pentacam, VA, IOP, Topography. Actively support and assist patients on surgery days ensuring effective communication. Handling patient enquiries effectively, by means of referral to a medical practitioner if necessary and providing service excellence. Provide basic advice on health promotion, with particular reference to ophthalmic surgery. Provide pre and postoperative care, within level of competence, to patients. This role involves managing patient though the entire patient journey, ensuring effective communication at all times. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, organised, able to effectively communicate with patients, able to work under pressure and deliver on weekly sales KPIs and targets Key Responsibilities: Perform welcome calls for patients 48 hours prior to their initial appointments. Inform them of the process of the day, what to expect, inform them of removal of contact lenses prior to appointment and answer any questions they may have. Welcome patients on the day of their initial consultation and ensure a seamless experience throughout their appointment by consistently following the procedure for meeting and greeting all patients Learning and participating in the Service Excellence approach to customer and patient service and using these principles to provide exemplary standards of patient care Build a rapport with your patients, acting as their primary point of contact for any questions or concerns. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments. Participate in weekly PL meetings to discuss challenges, share ideas, and review conversion strategies. Provide information to patients regarding their appointments, procedures, and other queries. Ensure consultant has all patient information needed to consent patients on clinic days Requirements Previous experience working as a patient liaison in the healthcare industry is desirable Sales experience and working on KPIs and targets is mandatory Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office (Outlook, Work, Excell, PP) Proficiency with computer programs and technology, including electronic medical records systems Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals Excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our NHS medical glaucoma service, providing both clinical and surgical assistance. Key Responsibilities: - Diagnose, evaluate and manage patients with existing and undiagnosed glaucoma along with other ocular conditions. - Perform diagnostic tests and procedures such as visual field assessments, optical coherence tomography (OCT), volk, CCT and gonioscopy. - Provide management plans for existing Glaucoma referrals - Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients. - Collaborate with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans. - Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to service development initiatives. - Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. - Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding glaucoma management and treatment options. Responsibilities of the role will include: providing cover at the main hospital reception, being the first point of contact for patients and all other hospital visitors both in person and over the telephone, greeting patients and visitors at reception in a professional manner, supporting the Patient Services Team by assisting with patient queries before, and following consultation, billing, general administration support to Patient Services team. They will provide excellent care to all patients, with specific responsibility for providing skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team, and also may include peri-operative and post-operative care in the surgical and refractive suite of the hospital, and assisting with surgical procedures They will ensure a comprehensive level of care provision ensuring the patient is regularly updated to encompass change and will deliver highly skilled patient-centered care to all ophthalmic patients within the hospital.  They will assist in maintaining an ‘out of hours’ emergency patient service for quality standards and continuity of care. They will adhere to the principles of clinical governance and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to assist in providing the most efficient and effective level of service Key responsibilities: To promote a sensitive, responsive and caring approach to all patients, visitors and colleagues within the hospital environment. To be responsible for the delivery of high quality, safe and effective patient care throughout the patients’ visit to Optegra. To work in a manner that also ensures maximum efficiency, effective utilisation of resources and the seamless delivery of support to Consultants / Surgeons. Requirements - Registered Nurse with 1st level NMC registration. - ODP Level 3 NVQ in Operating Department Practice or equivalent. - ODA City and Guilds 752. - Previous experience in Theatres, General Surgery, or Outpatients.
