    Lifting Appointed Person (AP) Locations: West London to Birmingham areas Sector: Rail / Infrastructure About the Role We are delivering a major rail infrastructure project in West London and are looking for an experienced Lifting Appointed Person (AP) to take ownership of all lifting operations on site. This is a hands-on role working in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment, responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing lifting activities to ensure they are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements. Key Responsibilities Produce lift plans, RAMS, and lifting strategies for all operations Plan and manage complex lifts, including heavy and restricted-area lifts Ensure compliance with LOLER, BS 7121, PUWER, and site requirements Act as Lifting Supervisor when required, overseeing day-to-day operations Brief lifting teams and ensure works are carried out to approved plans Coordinate crane operations, slingers, and lifting teams on site Check all lifting equipment, plant, and accessories are certified and fit for use Carry out site assessments, including crane positioning, ground conditions, and exclusion zones Maintain safe systems of work and control of lifting areas at all times Report incidents, near misses, and ensure records are kept up to date About You Proven track record as an Appointed Person on major construction or infrastructure projects Strong experience managing lifting operations in live, high-risk environments Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to solve problems on site Confident leading teams and working closely with subcontractors Strong focus on safety, compliance, and getting the job done Essential Requirements CPCS Appointed Person – Lifting Operations (A61) CPCS Lifting Supervisor (A62) CSCS Gold or Black Card SSSTS (or equivalent) Safety-critical medical What’s on Offer Flexible on location from London to Birmingham 6 month ongoing contract 6 month contract – ongoing £60-65ph The NRL Group connect global companies with the right people to bring engineering projects to life.
