  • Regional Sales Engineer  

    - Manchester

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    NOV is looking to recruit a Regional Sales Engineer to cover the South East of the United Kingdom.

    Reporting to the UK Sales Manager, the Regional Sales Engineer covering the Southern geographical region of the UK will have responsibility for sales deliverables and maximising revenue potential with existing accounts as well as identifying new customer opportunities.

    You will utilise your sales, engineering and project management skills to improve performance and achieve business targets.

    As the Regional Sales Engineer you will develop, continually improve and communicate action plans and processes to external customers, surpassing their expectations in order to confirm NOV as their preferred supplier.

    Key to this role will be your ability to act as the customer voice to all internal stakeholders, communicating qualified sales opportunities and agreeing achievable delivery dates with timelines to an agreed price level in alignment with both NOV's and our customer's business.

    Your existing technical understanding of engineering processes and products will act as a foundation to you developing critical product knowledge in relation to NOV's Pumping and Mixing Technologies and associated products.

    Crucial to this role will be your ability to drive continual improvement processes, enhancing yours and the sales team's performance and capabilities, together with your appreciation of the commercial implications of engineering decision-making, you will have success in turning customer-driven requirements into profitable solutions.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Liaise with customer accounts, developing a good working relationship and attend to their requirements or requests efficiently and diligently ensuring that customers receive the highest level of customer service from all areas of the organisation Revenue responsibility for accounts reporting increases and future plans of accounts - maintain open and constant communication with customers to gain information on customers future strategy and communicate back to the management team for future planning Generate leads by understanding account strategic direction and communicate to wider relevant product line sales team Identify new business opportunities, qualifying needs and pursue key decision-makers, buyers in the organisation Achieve internal sales KPIs and metrics - increase quotation to order conversion rates, identify reasons for non-conversion (communicate these to internal stakeholders) and make recommendations for improvement to secure future conversions Understand and communicate our customers buying patterns/processes, providing reactive and proactive customer support with clear, defined and documented follow up plan Tight management of account pipeline to ensure accurate revenue forecasting Create and present regular sales and activity plans including forecasting to present to key stakeholders of the business Act as main point of contact for key account enquiries, technically evaluating the customer's requirements and ensuring high quality quotations are produced which meet the customers' requirements and adhere to the company's commercial policies Regularly liaise with the management team where necessary to co-ordinate the correct technical and commercial response to the client Progress quotations directly with accounts to verify proposals interpret requirements correctly, to ascertain if our proposal is commercially acceptable and to ensure that the company is in the best possible position to win any potential business Monitor customer issues, feedback, deadlines, and deliverables and ensure customer issues are handled effectively and quickly, adapting, improving and communicating internal processes as and where necessary Oversee/manage any commercial changes to an order and communication of the same to the Customer Ensure all quotations for your accounts are handled by the team in accordance with customer requirements Customer visits, client office based support and travel throughout region of responsibility as and when required. Travel outside of the area of responsibility when required Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager Attend industry functions / events and provide detailed feedback

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Tertiary education in an Engineering and / or Business discipline

    EXPERIENCE

    Experience in a similar position involving Pumps & Pumping Systems / Applications. Working knowledge of the UK Water Industry and related Sales environment

    DESIRABLE

    Working knowledge of Industrial processes and related Sales environment

    SKILLS, TRAINING AND SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE

    Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook) Working knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems

    Knowledge of Progressing Cavity Pump technology and applications where Progressing Cavity Pump technology is employed. Quality Assurance

    NOV is looking for an Design Technician to join one of our Hydra Rig Business Units in Great Yarmouth.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    As a Field Service Engineer at Procon Engineering (part of NOV Rig Equipment), you'll be the frontline expert delivering precision calibration, commissioning, and repair services across customer sites throughout the UK. In your role as a Field Service Engineer, you will be home based travelling to customer sites daily to undertake your work.

    Working autonomously, you'll tackle complex challenges across a range of process weighing and measurement systems-bringing critical equipment back online with accuracy and efficiency.

    This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy hands-on problem-solving, independence, and contributing to industrial safety and performance.

    What You'll Be Doing

    Core Responsibilities:

    Calibrate, commission, and troubleshoot on-site process weighing systems using F1/M1 test weights, flow meters, and force calibration rigs Install and commission belt weighers and boiler leak detection systems Calibrate instruments for temperature, pressure, pH, conductivity, and magnet strength Perform off-site repairs of scales and balances at Procon HQ Complete service reports and calibration certificates before leaving site Ensure compliance with all NOV/Procon HSE policies and procedures

    Occasional Duties:

    Support assembly and testing at HQ as needed Provide weekend cover (one in every three Saturdays) Collaborate with or support fellow engineers on joint service jobs Travel and overnight stays across the UK as required

    What You Bring

    Essential Qualifications & Experience:

    ONC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (HNC preferred) Time-served engineer or equivalent hands-on field experience Strong background in service/calibration of process weighing equipment Comfortable working under pressure and independently Willingness to travel throughout the UK and stay overnight as needed

    Key Responsibilities

    Program, set up, and operate CNC machines to produce parts as per specifications and drawings. Machine Grant Prideco, Tenaris DSTJ, and API rotary shouldered connections to precise tolerances. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications. Perform regular machine maintenance checks and ensure all equipment is in good working order. This is a key operational role responsible for inspecting drilling tubulars and associated equipment in line with company procedures and international standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Carry out or coordinate preparatory work, visual and dimensional inspections, field repairs, and NDT/NDE testing Verify material descriptions against work orders and assess suitability for inspection Communicate any concerns or non-conformities to customers and internal teams clearly and professionally Interact with customer representatives to ensure all expectations are understood and met Set up, operate, and maintain inspection and testing equipment safely and effectively Perform accurate marking, stencilling, colour coding, and classification of materials per specifications Maintain clear, thorough, and accurate records of inspections and test results Ensure final reports are prepared and presented accurately and in a timely manner Monitor and report on equipment condition, performance, and any losses or misuse Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times Participate in basic maintenance and ordering of equipment spares and consumables as needed

    Qualifications & Skills:

    MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection) and LPI (Liquid Penetrant Inspection) certification (essential) Experience working with NS-2 / DS-1 specifications for oilfield tubulars (essential) Experienced in Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) (essential) Skilled in using thread gauges, calipers, micrometers (essential) Familiarity with drilling tubulars and operations in pipe yards Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in reporting Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    Key Responsibilities
