About the Occupational Health Advisor role: This is an outstanding opportunity to join North Wales Police as a Occupational Health Advisor. You'll be joining on a full time Temporary contract for 12 months within an organisation that will truly support your success in the workplace. You will be responsible for providing objective occupational health advice, which enables North Wales Police to manage the health of its workforce effectively in line with legal requirements. Provide Professional input into the recruitment of Police Officers and staff, assessing ongoing fitness for work as appropriate. Undertake health surveillance in line with legal requirements. What we're looking for in our Occupational Health Advisor: Registered General Nurse holding current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Occupational Health Degree A minimum of 3 years post registration clinical experience. The post holder must be able to evidence of continual professional development and revalidation with the NMC. Knowledge of sickness and absence management processes including advising on reasonable adjustments and recuperative plans. Experience of managing own caseload Trained in Audiometry, spirometry, Vision Screening Ability to keep comprehensive clinical records. Occupational Health Experience IT literacy, ability to use relevant IT systems and Microsoft Office. A current manual driving licence is also required, as the post holder will be required to travel across the Force as required. Desirable; Phlebotomy experience Trained in vaccinations Experience of providing occupational health to an emergency service (I.e. Police, Fire. Ambulance). About the Screening Nurse role: This is an outstanding opportunity to join North Wales Police as a Screening Nurse. You'll be joining on a full time Temporary contract for 12 months within an organisation that will truly support your success in the workplace. You will be required to provide workplace health surveillance, screening and undertake health assessments ensuring compliance with relevant legislative requirements and to provide information, and organise activities relating to well-being and health promotion. What we're looking for in our Screening Nurse: Registered General Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration status, with at least three years post registration clinical experience. Evidence of continuous professional development and revalidation with the NMC. Experience of working in the Community, Accident and Emergency or Coronary Care, preferably Practice Nursing and / or Occupational Health. Experience of managing own caseload. Previous experience in Health Promotion. Ability to keep comprehensive clinical records. Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including delivering high quality presentations. Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in managing a workload and balance competing priorities, redirecting resources quickly and effectively to meet changing demands A current driving licence is also required, as the post holder will be required to travel across the Force as required. Desirable; Knowledge of sickness and absence management processes including advising on reasonable adjustments and recuperative plans. Previous practical experience of undertaking vaccination programmes including the undertaking of Hepatitis prevention programme / administering flu vaccinations or be willing to obtain competency in this skill. Previous practical phlebotomy experience or be willing to obtain competency in this skill. We are looking for an individual who should be confident and professional when delivering training to large groups of individuals and be innovative to ensure the training delivery is always engaging. What does the Force Trainer Operational role entail? Taking lead on projects to be developed using the appropriate training programmes and materials. What will I need for the Force Trainer Operational Role? The role requires applicants who can demonstrate (with evidence) skills in the following areas: For the qualified role – Possess a Cert. Ed or equivalent qualification or a Level 4 Learning & Development Qualification (TDP)(Police Equivalent). For the unqualified role – Possess a PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector), Award in Education and Training, or equivalent Level 3 training qualification, and work towards completion of Level 4 Learning & Development Qualification (TDP)(Police Equivalent). Training Plan for Unqualified to Qualified role will require studying for and achievement of the Level 4 Learning & Development Qualification (TDP)(Police Equivalent).
