Location: Halifax Centre, Sowerby Bridge, and surrounding HX postcodes Salary: £12.25 – £13.00 per hour (Weekly Pay + Holiday Pay) Contract: Flexible Agency / Supply (8 to 40 hours per week)

We are looking for dedicated Level 2, Level 3, and experienced Unqualified Practitioners to join our specialist support team. If you live in the HX area and are tired of long commutes into the city, we have partner nurseries right on your doorstep in Halifax and Sowerby Bridge that need your expertise.
Whether you are looking for a full-time schedule or just one or two days a week to fit around your other commitments, we offer a "higher pay for higher quality" model that rewards your skills and reliability.
The Role: What to Expect
As a supply practitioner, no two days are the same. You will be the vital support system for local nurseries, helping them maintain safe ratios and high-quality care. Your responsibilities will include:
Engaging Young Minds: Implementing the EYFS framework through creative play, messy play, and outdoor learning.
Providing Nurturing Care: Assisting with daily routines, including meal times, snacks, and personal care for children aged 0-5.
Team Collaboration: Working alongside permanent nursery teams to ensure a happy, safe, and "enabling" environment.
Communication: Giving professional handovers to parents and permanent staff members.
RequirementsRequirements: What You Need
We pride ourselves on the quality of our staff, so we do have a specific entry bar:
Experience: You must have at least 3 months of recent experience working in a private day nursery or preschool (School-only experience or babysitting is not suitable).
The 7:00 AM Call: You must be reachable and ready to accept bookings from 7:00 AM on the days you choose to work.
Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare is preferred, but we welcome applications from Unqualified Assistants with significant nursery experience.
Compliance: You must have an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to pay for and process a new one immediately).
Skills: A solid understanding of Safeguarding and the EYFS framework.
