    Job Description The Times and The Sunday Times represent a combined 400 years of covering news and providing comment and analysis on the UK and the world. We are authoritative, credible, responsible, trusted and a part of the nation’s cultural heritage.  Your role:The features production department is responsible for the sub-editing, production and digital publishing of the features supplements in The Times and The Sunday Times. It is a team of energetic, professional, multi-skilled journalists working across all platforms. Day to day you will: Sub-edit copy and write headlines, standfirsts and furniture to a very high standard for online and print Work with pictures, design, video and graphics on imagery for the website and app Support the head of features production and their deputies to curate, design and publish the features sections on all platforms Understand the requirements and expectations of the various section editors in features Work with the section desks, visuals and production colleagues to produce features sections as efficiently as possible, meeting deadlines Work regularly in the newsroom in London and across a 7 day rota What we’re looking for from you: Experience as a sub-editor for a national newspaper, magazine or digital publisher with a demonstrable interest and enthusiasm for general features Imaginative in writing headlines and other page/digital furniture; aware of the relevance of search engine optimisation and metadata for the digital platforms Strong sub-editor who can adapt to working across platforms with a proven ability to edit copy quickly, accurately and to the highest standard Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to problem-solve and negotiate positive outcomes Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams  A strong understanding of editorial compliance and regulatory issues We are News UK:One of the leading media businesses in the UK and Ireland.
