    Are you a motivated and experienced Social Worker with AMHP qualification looking to make a real difference in adult mental health services? Network Recruitment Wales is recruiting on behalf of Torfaen County Borough Council for a Social Worker to join the Adult Mental Health Social Work Team within Adult Services on a 30-week temporary assignment, due to ongoing recruitment challenges.
    This is an excellent opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary environment, supporting adults experiencing mental distress and promoting recovery-focused outcomes across community and hospital settings.
    What You’ll Do:Undertake high-quality social care assessments, risk assessments, and care planning for adults experiencing mental health needs.Work proactively with individuals to promote choice, control, positive risk-taking, and meaningful social inclusion.Contribute to recovery-focused interventions that support independence and wellbeing.Collaborate effectively with health colleagues and partner agencies within a multi-disciplinary framework.Maintain accurate, timely case records and professional documentation in line with statutory requirements.Carry out duties as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) when required.What We’re Looking For:A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Care Wales (or equivalent).Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualification (essential).Strong experience in adult mental health social work, including assessment and risk management.Excellent communication, report-writing, and professional judgement skills.Ability to work flexibly across community and hospital settings.A collaborative team player with enthusiasm and commitment to high-quality practice.Essential Requirements:Eligibility to work in the UK.Social Care Wales registration.AMHP qualification.Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure & Barring Service).Criminal Convictions Declaration.Signed Confidentiality Agreement.Minimum 2 years’ references/work history.Why Join Us?You’ll be joining a supportive and experienced Adult Services team within Torfaen, with opportunities to further develop your skills in a well-established mental health service.
