We are seeking a warm, committed, and enthusiastic Academic Mentor to join our friendly primary school team. This role begins as soon as possible and involves supporting pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves working with children, thrives on being a positive role model, and wants to make a meaningful impact every day.About the Academic Mentor RoleAs a Academic Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who require additional guidance to overcome barriers to learning. You will support their emotional wellbeing, promote positive behaviour, and help them develop confidence, resilience, and motivation.Key Responsibilities of an Academic MentorDeliver 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with learning, social, or emotional needsLiaise with third parties and keep records of individual student case filesBuild strong, trusting relationships to encourage positive behaviour and self-confidenceCollaborate with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams to provide targeted supportContribute to a calm, nurturing, and inclusive school environmentCommunicate effectively with staff, parents, and external agenciesAdapt flexibly to the changing needs of pupils and the school dayWhat We're Looking ForA proactive, reliable, and compassionate individual who truly enjoys working with childrenPatience, emotional maturity, and the ability to remain calm under pressureStrong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships quicklyExperience in schools, childcare, mentoring, or youth work (desirable but not essential)Good competency in English and Maths to support pupils effectively
