OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Press Brake Setter / Operator to join our fabrication and engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in setting and operating press brake machinery, the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and a solid understanding of engineering and fabrication processes.Key Responsibilities
Set up, adjust, and operate press brake machines to produce components to exact specificationsRead, interpret, and work from technical drawings, engineering schematics, and job instructionsSelect appropriate tooling, machine settings, and materials for each jobPerform quality checks using measuring tools such as verniers, calipers, and protractorsEnsure components meet required tolerances and quality standardsMonitor production to identify and resolve any issues or non-conformitiesMaintain a clean, organised, and safe working environmentWork collaboratively with the fabrication and engineering teams to meet production deadlines
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience as a press brake setter/operatorStrong ability to read and interpret technical drawingsSolid understanding of engineering and fabrication principlesExperience with metal folding, forming, or sheet metal workGood knowledge of materials, machine controls, and toolingAbility to check own work and follow quality proceduresStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
Experience with CNC press brake machines (e.g., Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf)Knowledge of bending allowances, tooling selection, and machine programmingFLT licence or other relevant qualifications (not essential)
