    As Head of Strategy and Portfolio, you will be responsible for:

Funding and Resource Allocation: Facilitate and inform discussions to prioritise funding and resources across BAU, Projects and Product in MO Technology. Manage the annual departmental budgeting process and reforecasts aligned to the strategic objectives, supported by the wider IT SLT. Governance: Chair and facilitate strategic governance forums, including those required to decide on portfolio level prioritisation, investment and resource allocation. Manage a portfolio governance process that facilitates and encourages change and innovation and does not slow the portfolio progress. Benefits Management: Ensure the Product and Project teams manage their delivery toward strategic benefit expectations  Aggregate benefits at portfolio level and use these to drive portfolio level analysis and decisions. Incorporate the benefit metrics into the development and review of the technology strategy. Risk Management: Identify and assess potential strategic risks and challenges related to MO technology.  Own the technology input into the company wide risk process. Work closely with broader security and risk teams to develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to ensure business continuity. Technology Supplier Management: Own the supplier strategy including guidelines on how and when suppliers should be used Work with Procurement and Tech leadership to ensure alignment to the strategy across Technology and understand implications and resolve any challenges it presents.  Budgeting, Supplier and Cost Control: Prepare and manage the Strategy and Portfolio department budget, controlling expenses, and optimising spending while maintaining high standards of service delivery. Manage department suppliers appropriately ensuring value for money and ensuring the timely delivery of services, aligning to the technology and company procurement and supplier strategy requirements. Manage and coordinate the delivery of the Technology departments Annual Operating Plan (AOP) Project Delivery: Hold responsibility for successful delivery of Projects/Programmes that sit outside Product and BAU capabilities.  Build out the MO Technology project manager and portfolio change specialist capabilities, maintaining a pool of specialists in MO who are available to deliver projects/programmes and support business change.     About You Minimum Criteria Proven experience in strategic planning, portfolio and project management, and business development in the technology industry.     About The Role A new role in our Technology leadership team, the Head of Product is a significant role responsible for transforming MO into a Product led organisation. This also includes managing the overall tech Product budget, leading the tech product domain teams across MO, and overseeing the strategy and management of technology products across MO. 

    The role will work closely with the business and Product Owners to define the vision, roadmap and budget required to deliver technology products within MO.

    They lead close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering and the business, to develop and execute product strategies that align with the company's vision and objectives.
    As Head of Product, you will be responsible for: Product Strategy and Vision: Develop and communicate a clear technical product vision that aligns with the company's strategic objectives and market trends.
    Work with the business areas to identify new market opportunities and drive the product roadmap to ensure a competitive advantage. Build out and evolve the Product capability within MO – working closely with stakeholders from the business, engineering and technology. Incubate and develop Product Owners where they are required and don’t currently exist in the business. Product Development: Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch and ongoing management, ensuring timely and high-quality product releases. Work closely with the engineering and business teams to define product requirements and specifications. Conduct regular product reviews and ensure that product development stays on track and within budget. Own the budget for all tech product teams, leading decision-making on a regular basis to ensure it’s invested into the priority areas to achieve MO’s strategy Work closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure product investments deliver effectively against the company and product objectives and benefits are realised. Customer Focus:
    Champion a customer-first mindset throughout the product management function.  Stay closely connected with customers and stakeholders, gathering feedback, understanding pain points, and identifying opportunities for product improvement. Support the analysis of customer behaviour and usage data to make data-driven product decisions that enhance user satisfaction. Performance Tracking and Reporting: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and make data-driven decisions. Alongside the business, regularly report on product performance and present updates to the executive team and other stakeholders. Collaboration and Communication: Play a strategic role in working with the business and technology leadership to agree and deliver strategic priorities across products. Be the voice of Product within MO – leading the transformation of MO into a product organisation.
