Both the role and client site have ITAR nationality restrictions We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer with wealth of component/subsystem testing experience to work for a world recognised defence manufacturer based at their site in Bolton, Greater Manchester *Hybrid Working available, however you will be required for a minimum of 3 Days onsite* The role will primarily involve carrying out production test and diagnostics of complex weapons at system and sub-system level Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Testing of complex electronic sub-assemblies and circuit cards, and diagnosis of production test failures down to component level Generation of test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports based on higher-level requirements Providing technical support to test operators to facilitate the efficient throughput of prime equipment hardware during production Identification of remedial and corrective actions following test failures, in a timely manner, to allow Manufacturing to continue production in line with the programme Assessment of related test equipment issues, advising maintenance and support services to resolve equipment failures Evaluation of technical problems in order to develop proposals for investigations and subsequent corrective actions, including process improvements for manufacturing test Test Engineering representative at Defect Review Board meetings to ensure efficient progress of equipment and associated quality notifications towards corrective action. Skillset/experience required: Must hold HNC/HND (Electronics) level of qualification or equivalent Testing experience down to component level and prior diagnosis of test failures ESSENTIAL A good understanding of digital and analogue electronic measurement and test principles, as well as fault diagnosis techniques, would be hugely beneficial Awareness of electrical/electronic system and sub-system integration and test philosophies An understanding of RF and Microwave technology at subsystem level would be an advantage Experience of using both manual and automated test equipment in an electronics manufacturing environment Ability to plan and organise own work in line with given priorities. Job Description: As a crucial element between our client and their suppliers the role is heavily integrated in the Design development process, providing support from a technical perspective ensuring that new or updated designs are fit for Manufacture & Assembly and that jig & fixture requirements are understood and planned for. The position will be based on-site working at our clients Cambridge facility with potential travel supplier sites in and around the UK *Candidates with prior experience in either industrial welding or structural assembly of particular interest* The Production Engineer will be continually looking at new or improved materials, processes and work practices that can be embedded into future products to reduce cost and lead-time & improve quality. Candidates will have a background in either structural assembly or industrial welding.
