Following a successful hire at their Midlands site, our client is now growing again and looking to add a CAD Designer to their Haverhill, Suffolk office. This is a technically grounded, commercially minded design role sitting right at the point where concept meets manufacture.
You’ll be designing retail and point of sale products that actually get built. Not just visual ideas, but engineered, cost-aware, production-ready solutions that move smoothly from screen to shopfloor.
The role, in real termsProducing accurate 3D CAD models for retail and point of sale units, fixtures and componentsDeveloping clear visuals and presentations that communicate intent to clientsTaking concepts through refinement, feedback and value engineeringPreparing full technical drawing packs for manufacture, including assemblies, components and fabrication detailsDesigning with joinery, metalwork and overseas production in mind, not in isolationLiaising closely with internal production teams to validate feasibilitySupporting overseas manufacturers with clear, detailed technical informationMaintaining clean documentation, version control and drawing standards
This is hands-on product development. You’ll be expected to think about materials, tolerances and buildability from day one.
