    Were on the look out for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Housing Solicitor/Legal Executive with proven experience in housing law to hit the ground running in a close-knit, busy in-house legal team dealing with all aspects of tenancy and leasehold management law including; possession, disrepair, anti-social behaviour plus other tenancy and leasehold issues including service charge disputes.

    This is an opportunity to join a team of lawyers who are passionate about social housing law in an environment where your ideas are valued and where you could help shape the future of the Legal Services provision within the organisation.

    The role

    To work as part of the in-house Legal Services Team.

    • To provide a comprehensive in-house legal service to the Housing Services and Property Directorates on all aspects of tenancy and leasehold management law including possession, disrepair, anti-social behaviour, other tenancy and leasehold issues including service charge disputes.
    • To represent the Trust within court proceedings and to act as its advocate in the County and Magistrates Courts and Residential Property Tribunal.
    • To contribute to the drafting of housing management policy, the preparation of training materials and delivery of in-house legal training on issues of tenancy and leasehold management to the Trusts staff.

    What you'll need to succeed

    • Admission as a Solicitor in England & Wales or a Fellow of The Institute of Legal Executives (FILEX).
    • Substantial post qualification experience in housing law acting on behalf of social landlords and tenants gained in private practice, local authority or in-house RP legal team.
    • Detailed knowledge of housing and leasehold legislation, case law, litigation practice and procedure.

    • Lead on the accurate diagnosis of building issues, applying your strong knowledge of damp and mould , HHSRS , and building pathology to identify and categorise Category 1 & 2 hazards.
    • Ensure systems are updated by the team, H&S is complied with all necessary training is requested and updated on our systems
    • Provide technical guidance and post-inspection support to colleagues, ensuring quality and consistency across all property works.
    • Support the delivery of ad hoc planned works and contribute to continual service improvement through innovation and professional insight.
    • Review and advise on home improvement requests with a focus on safeguarding our housing stock.

    To be considered for this position it is essential that you have the ability to undertake associated trade tasks within competency, NVQ2 qualification or equivalent, and long-term relevant trade experience.

    Are you an experienced Fire Risk Assessor looking for a new opportunity? MTVH are currently seeking a diligent and qualified professional to join our Compliance Services team, operating within the Property Directorate. This is a crucial role that will involve conducting fire risk assessments, audits, inspections and surveys across our housing stock, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and minimising risk.

    We are looking to recruit Fire Risk Assessors to carry out assessments on a Type 1, 2 and 3 buildings. The role will involve:

    • Being primarily responsible for providing and delivering 100% compliance for Fire Risk Assessments across the MTVH property portfolio.
    • Working as part of a team of Fire Risk Assessors, utilising an excellent knowledge of the FRA process to view fire risk holistically and ensure that risk is identified and communicated accurately.
    • Being responsible for ensuring suitable and accurate remedial works are identified and communicated in assessments, and that they align with the timeframes recommended in the MTVH FRA Process documents.
    • Where required, being responsible for providing technical fire safety advice to colleagues across the organisation and being a point of contact for external organisations in relation to fire safety.

    To Succeed you will need:

    The successful candidate will have a strong technical background with a clear understanding of the Regulatory reform Fire Safety Order (2005) and relevant fire safety legislation and guidance documents with some experience gained in housing. You must have excellent communication skills and have an ability to communicate fire risk and good fire safety practise to all relevant persons.

    • Must hold Tier 2 accreditation via IFSM as a minimum (or be willing to obtain prior to employment)
    • Hold a valid nationally recognised fire safety qualifications such as - NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management, Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) or similar.
    • A recognised minimum grade 3 qualification within fire risk assessment such as the FPA, IFE or similar or registered by a competent body for FRA.
    • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in the fire safety industry.
    • Experience of carrying out FRA's in social housing

The ideal candidate must be a solution-focused surveyor with a passion for diagnosing and resolving complex property issues and able to share their experience with their team?     Were on the lookout for an experienced Senior P roperty Surveyor to play a key role in our dynamic Property Directorate. This is your opportunity to take ownership of a small team of surveyors and provide advice and support on challenging repairs, structural issues, and major defectsdelivering real results for our residents while balancing quality, compliance, and value for money.

    In this pivotal role, youll lead the investigation and resolution of non-routine repairs, damp and mould issues, and ad hoc planned replacements. Youll bring a proactive and resident-focused mindset, working collaboratively across departments to ensure every home is safe, secure, and well-maintained.

    What Youll Be Doing
    • Be the go-to expert for your team within the Property Directorate and for assisting your team in diagnosing and resolving complex building faults.
    • Independently manage a varied team and a small caseload and the team duties include damp and mould, insurance works, and more significant or specialist repairs.
    • Lead on the accurate diagnosis of building issues, applying your strong knowledge of damp and mould , HHSRS , and building pathology to identify and categorise Category 1 & 2 hazards.
    • Ensure systems are updated by the team, H&S is complied with all necessary training is requested and updated on our systems
    • Provide technical guidance and post-inspection support to colleagues, ensuring quality and consistency across all property works.
    • Support the delivery of ad hoc planned works and contribute to continual service improvement through innovation and professional insight.
    • Review and advise on home improvement requests with a focus on safeguarding our housing stock.
    • Play an active role in cross-team initiatives that drive business improvement and enhance the resident experience.
    What Youll Bring
    • A proven track record in managing a team and resolving complex property repairs and maintenance issues.
    • A deep understanding of housing construction, maintenance diagnostics, and the NHF Schedule of Rates .
    • Strong grasp of damp and mould diagnostics and the ability to apply the HHSRS framework effectively.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for translating technical issues into clear, resident-friendly solutions.
    • A genuine curiosity, commitment, and drive to fix things right, the first time within budget and to the highest standard.
    • Experience working collaboratively with both technical and non-technical teams.
