    Here at Merton College, we are seeking a Lecturer to provide tutorial and pastoral care for a group or groups of learners with learning disabilities/difficulties and monitor work experience activities. Youll act as a Course Leader and take responsibility for their study programme and take an active role in all aspects of student assessment and accreditation. Youll take part in curriculum planning and product development as required and deliver and imbed Maths and English to SEND to deliver the Colleges strategic objectives. As our Lecturer, youll hold a teaching qualification, a relevant professional qualification and have experience of working with and understanding the needs of SEND. Able to work as part of a team, youll be aware of the current curriculum changes and the implications for SEND learning strategies and reforms. With knowledge and understanding of the changing agenda for SEND learners in further education and the implications that this has for delivery and promotion of learning, youll have experience of curriculum development to meet the changing demands of the Further Education Sector, with evidence of providing effective student support. As a qualified teacher, youll be able to manage students with challenging behaviour and demonstrate the ability to teach and to communicate at a level appropriate to the students and in a way that recognises their different learning abilities. Youll have knowledge of the accreditation framework and assessment strategies in the post 16 sector, including RARPA and understand the application of information technology and assistive technology to teaching and learning strategies. Your experience will include working with external agencies and assessment and/or IV practices for a range of specialist accreditation. The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year. The Essential required area of Engineering Teaching is: To teach Electrical/Electronic Engineering at L1, L2, L3 and T-Level. Experience of delivering some elements of BTEC Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering Have a working knowledge of CAD (Mechanical and Electronic) T-Level Engineering Have Knowledge/experience of the T-Level Units, ESP and OSP L1 & L2 Engineering Willingness to deliver units at a lower levels A key focus of the role is to support the Head of Section in ensuring that students meet and exceed their target grades, while also providing guidance and support to members of the teaching team. You will deliver a high-quality student experience and achieve outstanding outcomes in Engineering through the development of teaching schemes, assessment schedules (including coursework and student monitoring. We are looking for someone who is educated to degree level (or holds a higher-level academic qualification) in an appropriate subject and holds professional industry qualifications and/or experience in a related industrial environment. Delivered training in an engineering environment or taught engineering in an educational setting, you will have vast knowledge and experience of, electrical/electronic principles & mechanical principles, with knowledge of engineering maths and CAD You will hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards), have experience teaching BTEC Engineering at level 2/3 and T Level and participated in recent and relevant CPD with an awareness of academic quality standards. With high personal standards and expectations, you will have good planning, preparation, organisational and administrative skills with good attention to detail, and be able to work well under pressure to agreed deadlines.
