    Mechanical Technician Circa £49,000 per annum Exeter MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Technician on behalf of a leading Power Generation business, to be based at their site in Exeter. This role will involve carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance activities as part of the mechanical maintenance team, helping to maximise the long-term reliability and availability of a large industrial plant, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, plus a 1 in 4 callout. As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for: Carrying out planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance activities Diagnosing faults and ensuring plant equipment is maintained to a high standard Supporting plant reliability and availability through effective maintenance practices Working safely within Permit to Work and Safe Systems of Work procedures, including plant isolations Contributing to the delivery of maintenance plans and performance targets Assisting in the development of scopes of work and engineering specifications for external contractors where required Other duties as required To be considered for this role you should have: Experience carrying out both planned and unplanned maintenance activities within a heavy industrial, process or power generation environment Sound knowledge of mechanical repair methods, machinery and equipment used within heavy industrial or process plants Experience working within Permit to Work and Safe System of Work processes Familiarity with preventative maintenance programmes and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) A recognised engineering qualification, such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), supported by a completed apprenticeship Some experience creating scopes of work or engineering specifications for externally contracted work This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading business in the resource recovery and recycling sector, offering huge long-term growth potential.
