    Were looking for a Trainee Accountant to join our Finance team at Matalan Head Office. As a Trainee Accountant, youll be working alongside a group of both part and fully qualified accountants and will be given the opportunity to take on real responsibility early in your career. A key priority of the role is to drive value and challenge across the business by building effective working relationships. What youll be doing: Build strong relationships and act as a business partner to key areas across the business, ensuring transparency and a clear understanding of the cost base. Deliver timely and accurate financial information particularly through cost reviews with stakeholder needs front of mind. Identify opportunities to challenge costs and improve profitability, working closely with teams to put ideas into action. Accurately account for costs in line with International Financial Reporting Standards. About You Academically strong and highly numerate. Subject-relevant A-Level or degree qualifications (e.g. Finance, Economics, Maths, Chemistry) are preferable but not essential.
